Like a lot of us, Apple and Samsung are tired of their never-ending patent war, but apparently not tired enough to come to an out-of-court settlement. Unnamed sources tell The Wall Street Journal that Apple and Samsung have been in continuous discussions with one another over how to settle their intellectual property disputes but are still not anywhere near having a deal despite apparently coming close back in February. The Journal says that while “Samsung has pushed for a broad patent cross-licensing deal that could settle all outstanding litigation between the companies… it is unclear whether Apple was interested in such a deal.” Given that neither Apple nor Samsung has been definitively winning the patent wars so far, it’s not surprising that the two companies are still trying hard to hash out their differences outside of court.
