Apple unveiled a complete reimagining of its mobile platform on Monday, and beyond the completely new look of the user interface, iOS 7 is packed full of new features. Among them is a great new 3D parallax effect that moves shadows and lighting effects on home screens as the user moves the phone in his or her hand, resulting in a very cool 3D effect that gives the interface a Z axis. Apple’s new iOS 7 software doesn’t launch to the public until sometime this fall, but users don’t have to wait to get this great new parallax effect. A newly available tweak called “3DBoard” does its best to imitate the effect, and it actually does a decent job. The tweak is only available for jailbroken iPhones and it can be downloaded from Cydia, the jailbreak app store. A video showcasing 3DBoard on an iPhone 5 running iOS 6 follows below.
