Much to the delight of MacBook Air fans who feel that Apple’s (AAPL) display team has neglected their favorite computer in favor of the MacBook Pro and the iPad, it seems the company may be planning to offer a MacBook Air equipped with a Retina display later this year. According to a report from EMS One, via Apple Insider, the company will launch a new MacBook Air with a high-resolution display in the third quarter of 2013. Earlier rumors claimed the company would launch new MacBooks in June with no major design changes over previous models. Apple started lowering prices and slightly boosting the hardware of its Retina display MacBook Pro computers last week. However the more affordable Air model was left untouched, leading many to speculate that a refresh is slated to arrive in the coming months.
