The GooPhone I5 is about to get some competition. AllThingsD reports that Apple (AAPL) has passed its penultimate regulatory test and could soon start selling the iPhone 5 in China, as “China’s State Radio Management has approved two versions of the iPhone 5 for use on the country’s wireless networks.” Now Apple only needs to win a network access license from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and it will be able to sell its latest smartphone in the world’s most heavily populated country. That’s presuming, of course, that it doesn’t get sued for patent infringement by the mighty GooPhone team.
