Taiwan-based smartphone vendor HTC is reportedly in the early stages of developing a tablet that will run Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 8 operating system. According to industry insider Eldar Murtazin, HTC is working on a Windows 8 slate that will be powered by a Qualcomm-built ARM chipset. The Mobile-review.com Editor in chief says the tablet may even employ a “special version” of an upcoming Qualcomm CPU. Details are scare as the revelation comes by way of a brief conversation on Twitter, but Murtazin has been known to out companies’ plans long before they are made public. As much as Microsoft has piqued our interest with Windows 8 so far, we’re hoping more details surrounding HTC’s plans emerge soon.
