We’ve independently confirmed that all some Verizon Wireless stores will be closing at 4PM this coming Sunday. You might ask why, and we’d love to tell you, but we aren’t sure. Apparently no one under director level status has been informed why, and every employee in the company is required to be present at one of the many meetings across the country. We’ve been told closing early on a Sunday is “unheard of” and that this is either for a huge product launch (new DROID?), or something not so good, like massive layoffs. But that last part is obviously not confirmed and is just communicated to us as guesses.

Update: After digging a little deeper, we’ve heard that actually only select stores might be closing early, and there’s really nothing behind it. Carry on…
