Nokia announced in a press release yesterday, that they have an application ready, called Nokia Internet Radio. The application enables you to search a directory of hundreds of stations from around the globe. The idea behind it, is that Nokia wants to provide people with an easy access way to discover new music. Besides a searchable directory, it will also provide an hourly updated top ten of the most popular stations, together with the ability of adding your preferred stations to a list of favorites. The application can be downloaded at the link below, but so far, the only supported phones are: N82, N91, N95, and N95 8GB. Oddly enough, the multimedia savvy N81 isn’t among the first batch of supported devices, even though it’s showed in the picture. Nokia states they will keep developing the application, making it available to more handsets, so hopefully we’ll see that support soon enough. It will also be embedded in Nokia’s S60 3rd edition devices, so it looks like we’ll be Nokia Internet Radioing it out of the box from now on!
