Oh, how the rumors are flying these days. Reuters is reporting that British Telecom is in the market to acquire a certain American cell company. Sprint, which currently clocks in as the country’s 3rd largest cellular provider, has neither confirmed nor denied the rumors, but the company’s stock has soared amidst the whispers. It’s no secret that Sprint has been struggling as of late. As such, it’s an appealing bargain in the acquisitions world, though its hard to say how much value can be squeezed out of an ailing company on an ailing network. Sprint certainly needs to do something if it hopes to compete much longer, but we’re not so sure that selling out to a foreign master is the smartest route.
