File this one as a solid rumor for the time being, but Joystiq is reporting that Sony may be planning on updating their SIXAXIS Playstation 3 controller to include touch sensitivity. The technology will reportedly be called “Touchsense.” There’s no word on exactly how this will function, but it is said to have a more “nuanced rumble” effect. Does this mean that rumble/vibration support is on the way as well? Again, we’re talking rumor here, but it’s well known that Sony has been working on a vibration update to their PS3 controllers. Time will tell, BGR readers, time will tell, but if an announcement is impending, expect it to come sometime during next week’s E3 conference.
