Call of Duty: Black Ops Escalation for Xbox 360 landing on May 3rd

On Monday, gaming site Major Nelson wrote that Activision has revealed it will launch the next expansion pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops for Xbox 360 on May 3rd. Dubbed “Escalation,” the new downloadable content — for Xbox LIVE subscribers — will sport five new maps, including four that can be played in multiplayer mode. New maps include “Hotel,” where you’ll battle on the roof of a Cuban hotel and casino, a Russian “Zoo,” a WMD “Stockpile”, and “Convoy.” And what’s an update without some more zombies? Escalation will reportedly offer a new “Zombie experience,” with new playable characters. It’s unclear how much Escalation will cost, but we’ve already begun raiding our couch cushions for spare change. More →

ABCmouse.com brings interactive fables and zoo to iOS

Undoubtedly, one of the things that makes the holidays so enjoyable is the unadulterated joy seen on the faces of smaller children. Sons, daughters, nieces, nephews, cousins, you know… the ones who make the hassle of gifts, traveling, crowds, and overindulgent consumerism all worthwhile. Whether it’s seeing them tear through wrapping paper like Grant through Richmond or watching them laugh with family and friends, kids make the put the holidays in perspective — those of you with children in your proverbial posse know exactly what we’re talking about. So this holiday season, why not up your street-cred with the aforementioned bunch? ABCmouse.com has just released a series of interactive books for iOS that are perfect for showing the young peeps at your holiday celebration why you’re exponentially cooler than that whacky Uncle Norm. The latest series includes multiple titles from Aesop’s Fable’s, including The Boy Who Cried Wolf and The Tortoise and the Hare. There is even a title with an interactive Zoo to navigate through. Each title is compatible with the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad and available for $0.99 in the App Store.
