Motorola XOOM 2, Slimline smartphone, Tracey XL watch phone and more leaked

Motorola inadvertently went live with an upcoming website redesign on Tuesday evening, revealing six unannounced devices set to be released in the near future, reports claim. Before Motorola was able to pull the test site, cell phone blog Pocketnow.com was able to procure some telling screen grabs. Devices pictured include Motorola’s upcoming second-generation Android tablet, the XOOM 2, a watch phone codenamed “Tracey XL” after fictitious crime-fighting gadget hound Dick Tracey, and four smartphones: the ultra-thin Motorola “Slimline” and Motorola “Zaha,” the upcoming 4G LTE-enabled Motorola “Targa” and the Motorola “Pearl.” No further information about the devices was made available by the screenshots. Hit the break for more images of these unannounced Motorola devices. Shots of possible Motorola DROID 3 leaked

Shots of possible Motorola DROID 3 leaked

Is the image above the DROID 3? An OEM parts retailer named Global Redirects Parts seems to think so, but it also refers to the device as “Targa.” As we understand it, “Targa” is actually the name for Motorola’s DROID Bionic, due out later this summer, so it’s unclear if this is just a snafu on the retailer’s part. Still, the image does appear to be on a par with other DROID 3 leaked photos we’ve seen. There’s little we can tell from the image other than that the device has a front-facing camera on the top right of the phone, and that it seems to have a slightly larger screen than the DROID and DROID 2. Neither Motorola nor Verizon Wireless have confirmed the existence of this phone, so the DROID 3 remains pure speculation for now. Hit the jump for a few more images. More →

Images of Motorola’s Daytona, DROID 3, and LTE Targa surface online, headed to Verizon

Howard Forums member wnrussell has treated us to images of three unannounced handsets from Motorola — all of which look set to launch on Verizon Wireless sometime in the future. Details are scarce on all three devices, but we gain a bit of information from looking at the photographs. Above is a handset being called the Motorola Targa. It looks to be an LTE, Android device with an HDMI-out port and front-facing camera. Several Howard Forums members performed some CSI-style enhancements to the image and believe the camera sitting behind that rear protrusion reads “13MP” — 13 megapixels. Next on the list is a handset being called the DROID 3. The image of the DROID 3 was provided a la carte with no details, but we can see that the device appears to have a much thinner screen wrapped in an attractive chrome bezel along with a front-facing camera. The last image is a handset that looks nearly identical to the current DROID X, and was posted as having the name Daytona. The device is running Android 2.2.1 and bears the model number MB870 — the original DROID X has a model number of MB810. We’re not really sure about this handset, as it doesn’t seem as though it will serve much of a purpose with this Targa character hanging around. It could, however, be an earlier prototype that has been scratched. It’s pretty exciting stuff for those Motorola DROID fans out there. Hit the jump to check out the additional images. More →
