DROID X first production run sold out online, now shipping July 23rd

droid-x-sold-out-online

The DROID X proved to be extremely popular today, as the first production run is now sold out online. Folks looking to avoid the dreaded mail-in-rebate by buying online will now have to wait until July 23rd for their handset to ship. In-store sales have been equally strong with most stores selling through their launch day inventory. If you didn’t snag a DROID X yet don’t despair, additional shipments are expected to replenish the brick and mortar stores in the upcoming days.

Apple sells 300,000 iPads as of Saturday

Apple sells 300,000 iPads as of Saturday

ipad-launch

Apple just fired off a press release touting the fact that they’ve sold over 300,000 iPad devices as of Saturday at midnight. A far cry from Gene Munster’s 700,000 (though some could say that’s what happens when you count people and not stock check), it’s still pretty in line with what everyone else was predicting, and that’s kind of amazing. Also, the 300,000 figure is the entire figure — pre-orders, Apple store sales, partner sales, etc. People also downloaded over 250,000 books from the iBooks store as well as over one million apps. Here’s a quote from Steve Jobs:

“It feels great to have the iPad launched into the world — it’s going to be a game changer,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “iPad users, on average, downloaded more than three apps and close to one book within hours of unpacking their new iPad.”

Inside a WIND Mobile retail store

Inside a WIND Mobile retail store

wind-store

While WIND Mobile might never launch thanks to parent company Globalive’s illegal ownership structure, that didn’t stop its CEO Ken Campbell and his entourage from celebrating the completed renovation of one of its retail stores. It’s a departure from the typical Bell, Rogers or TELUS location to say the least. BG thinks it looks like a “New York subway car in white lacquer” and Andrew said it’s nothing but an “Apple store with mahogany”, so naturally we’re curious to know what you think. So hit the jump, check out the pics and give us your thoughts!

Verizon Wireless stores opening at 6AM on November 6th?

You know what November 6th is, right? It’s DROID day baby. And we don’t just mean the Motorola DROID. Alongside Schaumburg’s finest, HTC’s Droid Eris will go on sale as well and what better way to maximize sales than to have stores open early? Super early if one of our connects is to be believed: 6AM sharp.

RadioShack to rebrand as The Shack?

RadioShack to rebrand as The Shack?

Engadget reported a little while ago that RadioShack stores would be going through a name change — from RadioShack to simply The Shack. Apparently RadioShack corporate won’t change their name but in an effort to refresh and update their brand image (we suppose no one actually buys radios at RadioShack anymore) they’re going to be slowly transitioning existing stores to the new name starting this week. There’s also word of some abnormally-sized laptop stunt prop somewhere in the mix but we won’t bore you guys with the details on that.

LG Incite hitting AT&T stores, available soon?

LG Incite

After making its debut online a few days ago, the Incite is making its way into AT&T stores. We must say this phone looks a lot better in real life than in stock photos. As of now there is still no solid release date but we do have some pricing for you: $199.99 after a $100 MIR with a 2-year contract, $449.99 with no commitment. The phone also appears on AT&T rebate forms, which suggests an in-store release within the next few days. Booya! Hit the jump for a few more live shots.

Thanks, Anonymous!

We have lift off: AT&T Fuze demo units hit AT&T stores!

Well, that didn’t take long! It now seems as if AT&T Fuze demo units have started popping up in AT&T corporate stores across the country. We weren’t given any sort of launch information, but hey, it can’t be too long now, can it? There’s a couple more shots after the jump for all your dirty Windows Mobile fans. We can’t wait to get one of these…
