Apple buys San Francisco-based Wi-Gear, developing Apple Bluetooth headphones?

9to5Mac is reporting that Apple recently acquired a small Bluetooth headphone company based in San Francisco around two months ago. Their source has not disclosed a purchase price, and Wi-Gear as a company is no longer operational. Wi-Gear manufactured A2DP stereo headphones under the brand name iMuffs and even a Bluetooth adapter that enabled older iPod and iPhones to get in on the action. After some snooping, 9to5Mac found that the co-founder of Wi-Gear is now an iOS Bluetooth Engineer at Apple on LinkedIn, thus giving credibility to the story. It’s said that Apple plans to create and manufacture their own brand of Bluetooth headphones, though it isn’t clear whether this would be a replacement for the wired headset that comes with Apple’s music devices, or something like a stereo Bluetooth accessory. Maybe even a new Bluetooth headset to replace their less-than-stellar first go at it?

LG's enV Touch aka Voyager 2 gets spec'd

LG's enV Touch aka Voyager 2 gets spec'd

When we showed you some exclusive pics of the LG enV Touch aka Voyager 2 we didn’t know a whole lot about the Verizon-bound device. Don’t worry though, as some new details have now emerged thanks to a leaked Verizon Equipment Guide. The handset will sport dual WVGA touchscreen displays, a full-QWERTY keypad, stereo speakers, Bluetooth, microSDHC support and a 3.2 megapixel camera with not only auto-focus and flash but a Schneider-Kreuznach lens as well. The enV Touch will also feature a UI that is quite similar to its predecessor the Voyager in many ways, with one of the most notable improvements being the Shortcut Menu that stores up to 15 shortcuts. As for when the enV Touch will hit the shelves, it’s anyone’s guess at this point. The fact that it was left off of the latest Verizon rebate sheet that is in effect until June 4th however, probably isn’t too comforting for those who have their hopes set of landing this device ASAP. Hit the jump for a few more shots from the Equipment Guide.

BGR gets down with iHarmonix stereo headsets for iPhone and BlackBerry

BGR gets down with iHarmonix stereo headsets for iPhone and BlackBerry

We’re pretty big fans of music here at BGR, so we can become a little scrutinizing when it comes to the headsets we use on a daily basis. What we’re looking for is a headset that can deliver clear, clean and crisp sound at all volumes (there is nothing worse than getting garbled noise when you crank it up). Sure we have a few pairs laying around HQ that we’ve grown fond of but we can still check out some new ones from time to time, right? We’ve been testing out the Platinum i-Series and the Pro i-Series buds from iHarmonix over the past week or so and to be honest, we weren’t expecting much from these mid-range buds. You know what they say about judging a book by its cover though, so hit the jump for the skinny.
