If you ask me, I’d totally go down this five-story indoor slide that was recently installed in a Chinese shopping mall without worrying too much about any safety issues. However, users on China’s most popular social networking platform are going crazy about it over concerns that it’ll actually kill someone.
We reported on RIM’s 2012 release schedule earlier this week and now we’re back to paint a more complete picture with RIM’s full 2012 roadmap, which is loaded with information. The deck provides details on everything from the company’s upcoming BlackBerry PlayBook with built-in 3G, to the new Curve lineup including the BlackBerry Curve 9220 and BlackBerry Curve 9320, to new features like Wi-Fi media server sharing and more. From the calendar in the document, it looks like the first BlackBerry 10 smartphone, codenamed London, is currently scheduled for release in late September, but could be pushed to October based on the roadmap, which is a long way off considering we’re looking a a relatively slow three quarters leading up to BlackBerry 10. We’ve dropped 15 slides from this massive deck into a gallery, so check out all of the images below!
Another piece of the puzzle that is scheduled to take shape next month at HP’s webOS press event looks like it has just been revealed. A render of Palm’s large-form tablet was first seen earlier this month, but this time around there are specs and plenty of details to go along with new renders and slides. Codenamed Topaz, this webOS-powered slate will reportedly feature a 9.7-inch 1024 x 768-pixel oil and scratch-resistant display, a 1.2GHz processor, an Adreno 220 graphics processor, 512MB of DDR2 RAM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a front-facing camera for video chat, integrated Beats audio and two 3,150 mAh batteries that should deliver 8 hours of usage. HP will reportedly launch a Wi-Fi-only version of the Topaz initially, but 3G and 4G versions will follow soon after — obviously. More →
We have a feeling that you won’t have to wait long to see what BlackBerry 6 looks like, however, if you are one of those people who needs to know right now, we may have something for you. It appears as though the BlackBerry 6 ship is leaking like a sieve, as over 1,200 icons and some very detailed BB 6 developer slides have made their way onto the internet. Most of the 1,200 leaked icons remain unchanged from previous versions of the OS, however some have been updated to better compliment the newer, hipper, BlackBerry 6 UI. As for the slides, they include: new API details, UI walkthroughs, pinch and zoom details, and graphics specs among other things. Hit the jump for the links, and let us know what you think! More →
