Samsung to announce GALAXY Tab 7.7, Wave 3, GALAXY Note on September 1st

Samsung has already hinted at several major announcements that will be made during the IFA Tradeshow in Berlin, which kicks off on September 1st, and one savvy Android user already discovered what’s in store. According to This is my next, an Android developer noticed three logos inside Samsung’s Mobile Unpacked APK file. The logos clearly name the GALAXY Tab 7.7, the Wave 3 and the GALAXY Note. We have heard rumors that Samsung will launch a new 7-inch tablet, possibly with a new Super AMOLED HD display and Honeycomb in tow, and we’re definitely excited to hear more about the GALAXY Tab 7.7. The Wave 3 will no doubt be a Samsung bada-powered device but it is still unclear exactly what the GALAXY Note is. The South Korea-based company just announced its new GALAXY family of Android smartphones on Wednesday, so it is possible the GALAXY Note is another tablet. The good news is we have just one week to wait before we find out. More →

Samsung promises big announcement on September 1st [video]

Samsung promises big announcement on September 1st [video]

Samsung has released two teaser videos that promise “something big” is coming during the IFA trade show in Berlin, which kicks off on September 1st. The videos are vague: one shows scenes by an ocean and the second has a number of people walking around with glowing objects in their hands. It is possible the clips are hinting at Samsung’s rumored Android Honeycomb Galaxy Tab device, which packs a 7-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 1024 x 600-pixel resolution, a 3-megapixel camera and a 2-megapixel camera for video chats. Samsung unveiled the original 7-inch Galaxy Tab last year, so it’s entirely possible that an update will be announced on September 1st. But, some of the users are also holding the glowing objects up to their heads, which means a phone announcement is also likely in store. Thankfully we only have just over two weeks to find out what’s in store. Hit the jump for both videos. More →

HTC invites fans to 'see what's next' on September 1st

HTC has issued an invitation to its fans on Facebook, inviting them to “see what’s next” during a London event on September 1st. The company probably won’t unveil any new phones during a public event, but the IFA tradeshow in Berlin begins on the same day so we expect HTC will be making a number of announcements around the same time. We also have a few ideas of what could be in store. It’s possible that HTC will have its Prime and Ignite Windows Phone Mango devices on display. We also wouldn’t be surprised if there were more details on the Sensation’s successor, the HTC Ruby, which is supposed to pack a dual-core 1.4GHz processor, a qHD display and more. Maybe we’ll even see HTC’s latest tablet, the Puccini, which is expected to launch on AT&T later this year as the Jetstream. More →
