T-Mobile has finally made its latest Android smartphone available in stores and on its website — and thankfully, the “As low as $499.99″ seen on the device’s landing page is a little off base. $499.99 is the phone’s full retail price of course, and it can actually be had for as low as $199.99 with a new two-year service agreement. The Samsung Galaxy S 4G was first announced last week at $149.99, but it has since been revised up to the standard $200 price point. And that $200 gets you a beautiful 4-inch Super-AMOLED display, a 1GHz Hummingbird processor, a 5-megapixel camera and compatibility with Samsung’s “4G” HSPA+ network, of curse. It also runs Android 2.2 (Froyo), unfortunately, and there’s no telling at this point when it might get an update to Gingerbread. More →
T-Mobile on Monday confirmed preliminary pricing and availability details for its Samsung Vibrant successor. Announced earlier this month, the Samsung Galaxy S 4G will become available across the country on February 23rd, T-Mobile stated in a post on Twitter. The carrier also said that the handset will initially be offered for $149.99 on contract, though it noted that this pricing would only be available for a limited time. The Galaxy s 4G is nearly identical to the Samsung Vibrant it replaces, barring the addition of HSPA+ “4G” network compatibility and a new front-facing camera for video chat. Other notable features include a 4-inch Super-AMOLED touchscreen display, a 1GHz processor, a 5-megapixel camera and the Android 2.2 Froyo operating system.

According to supposed internal T-Mobile documents, details surrounding the release of three upcoming devices may have just been revealed. The information, while unconfirmed, lines up well with previous rumors in several instances. First up, the Dell Streak 7 will supposedly launch on February 2nd for $299.99 with a two-year contract. Unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show earlier this month, the Dell Streak 7 features Android 2.2, a 7-inch WVGA display and a dual-core Tegra 2 processor. Next, the document states that the Samsung Galaxy 4G smartphone will launch on February 23rd, featuring Android 2.2, a Super-AMOLED display and “4G” HSPA+ connectivity. Finally, the 4G-enabled, Honeycomb-packing LG G-Slate is said to be launching on March 23rd. Hit the break for an additional slide. More →
