HTC Sensation 4G landing on June 8th, Google AdWords suggests

HTC Sensation 4G landing on June 8th, Google AdWords suggests

A few sharp eyes over at TmoNews noticed that after searching “HTC Sensation” in Google, an advertisement popped up stating that the device was set to land on June 8th. Unfortunately it appears HTC has become the wiser and pulled the ad, which now simply says “pre-order now.” It remains unclear whether or not the leaked date is for the phone’s U.S. debut on T-Mobile or its European launch — although we suspect it’s the latter. We met up with HTC ahead of the Sensation 4G’s April 12th launch to get an early hands-on and left feeling impressed with the device —  formerly known as the HTC Pyramid. Its uni-body build design felt solid, the 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor was snappy, and we love HTC’s updated Sense user interface. If the Sensation 4G does end up landing on T-Mobile shelves during the first week of June, that gives the brand new LG G2x just over a month and a half to marinate as the only dual-core smartphone in the company’s lineup. Nothing like some a little friendly competition, no? More →

HTC Sensation gets early unveiling from Vodafone; 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 4.3-inch qHD [video]

HTC is expected to release the HTC Sensation — formerly known as the Pyramid — later today, and those suspicions were all but confirmed by the anxious folks over at Vodafone. In an early morning snafu, the company outed HTC’s 4.3-inch, touchscreen beast in all its glory. So what are we looking at? Glad you asked. The Sensation will sport a qHD, SLCD display that, as we’ve already mentioned, measures 4.3-inches on the diagonal. Sitting behind that formidable window will be a dual-core, 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor, 4GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, 8 megapixel rear-facing camera with dual LED flash, and a 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera. The handset will also be running the new and improved Sense user experience. You don’t have to take our word for it, there is a trio of leaked videos awaiting your scrutiny after the break. More →

HTC Pyramid may be revealed as HTC Sensation on April 12th

HTC’s highly anticipated Android smartphone codenamed “Pyramid” may finally be unveiled as the HTC Sensation at a media event in London on April 12th. An unconfirmed report from technology blog Pocket-lint cites multiple unnamed sources in claiming that the device will be introduced at the HTC event as had previously been rumored. Earlier reports suggest the Sensation will be a Gingerbread phone with a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, a 4.3-inch display, an 8-megapixel camera, 768MB of RAM and the latest version of the HTC Sense UI. Pocket-lint’s report states that the HTC Sensation will be available in the U.K. in the coming months but does not mention U.S. availability. More →

HTC Pyramid to launch in late-May on SFR, rumor suggests

An image procured by French site FrAndroid suggests that HTC’s unannounced — but well documented — Pyramid handset may be scheduled for a European release in very the near future. This site’s source indicated that the 1.2GHz, 4.3-inch handset should be landing on French carrier SFR sometime in “late-May.” HTC recently announced an April 14th media event, and the Pyramid is popular announcement prognostications from technology pundits. It does seem unlikely that this particular handset will ever make its way Stateside, but a blogger can dream… can’t he? More →

Images of HTC Pyramid leak; Android 2.3, 1.2GHz dual-core

The gang over at XDA Developers have acquired several new images of the unannounced and unreleased HTC Pyramid Android handset. The site’s intel seems to confirm what has been rumored for several months: this device is going to be a beast. The Pyramid will boast a 4.3-inch qHD display with a 960 x 54o pixel resolution, dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 768MB of RAM, 8 megapixel rear-facing camera, Wi-Fi b/g/n, and will run Gingerbread (Android 2.3.3) with Sense 3.0 (the same version that will be running on the EVO 3D). No word on when and where this Herculean handset will hit store shelves… but we’re hoping sooner rather than later. Hit the jump to see a few more images. More →

Images of HTC’s Pyramid Android smartphone surface

A live image of HTC’s unannounced Pyramid Android smartphone, rumored to possibly land on T-Mobile, has been leaked — and it looks a bit different than earlier renders. The Pyramid is sitting next to a Desire HD in the shot above, and based on its size we assume the speculation around the device having a 4.3-inch qHD display to be correct. Unlike last week’s leaked shot, though, the live version here shows a camera with dual-LED flash. Other rumors have suggested it will be powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and it will pack 768MB of RAM. It is suggested that the Pyramid could land sometime in May, so hopefully HTC will put and end to the rumors with an announcement during CTIA this week.

Images, specs of HTC’s Pyramid Android handset surface

The leaks are flying out of xda.cn at a fast and furious pace today. The site has posted renderings of another leaked, HTC handset, the Android-based Pyramid. The site reports that the device will sport a 1.2GHz processor, 4.3-inch Super LCD, qHD display with 540 x 960 resolution; 768MB of RAM; front and rear facing cameras; along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth radios. The site also lists Honeycomb (Android 3.0) as the operating system the device will run — which sort of calls the rest of the specs into question. Again, xda.cn has a mixed track record when it comes to leaked devices, and while the images look to be authentic, the specifications could simply be overzealous predictions made by the site. More →

HTC Pyramid: dual-core, 1.2GHz handset headed to T-Mobile?

The existence of this next handset is very much a rumor, but it’s a rumor that is almost too good to ignore. Blog AndroidandMe, quoting a “regular source who has provided accurate information about several Android announcements in the past,” is reporting that HTC’s first dual-core, Android handset will be a T-Mobile offering by the name of the HTC Pyramid. Aside from a 1.2GHz, dual-core, Snapdragon processor (MSM8260), the handset will also boast a 4.3-inch qHD display and should be available sometime in May. We’re going to do some digging of our own and see if we can confirm this tasty little rumor with our own sources. We’ll be sure to report back with what we find. More →
