Sprint to offer Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE for $200 starting August 19th

Sprint (S) has been planning to launch the Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE for a while now, but on Monday the carrier finally announced an official release date of August 19th and a sale price of $199.99 with a two-year service agreement. Sprint says that customers can now preorder the device, which will have a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, a 4.3-inch display screen, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a rear-facing 8-megapixel camera with 1080p video capture, and both LTE and NFC connectivity. Sprint (S) on Thursday formally announced that it would soon offer Motorola’s Photon Q LTE, although the carrier has not yet specified a release date or pricing information. The new smartphone will have a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, a 4.3-inch display screen, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a rear-facing 8MP camera with 1080p video capture, and LTE and NFC connectivity. Motorola Photon Q LTE seemingly headed to Sprint

Engadget has found what appears to be a diagram of the Motorola Photon Q LTE listed as approved on the Federal Communications Commission’s website. As Engadget notes, the purported Photon Q will run on LTE Band 25, which just happens to be the band that Sprint will use for its LTE network when it finally launches later this month. For those who need a refresher, the Photon Q is a QWERTY Android slider in the mold of Motorola’s DROID series that features a 4.3-inch display screen. More →
