Nokia Lumia 925 hits AT&T on September 13th for $99.99

AT&T subscribers looking for a new Lumia smartphone who don’t want to pony up $300 for a killer camera — or $200, if you live in one of the markets BGR exclusively revealed to be running Lumia 1020 sales right now — the carrier will soon have a great new option for you. Nokia’s Lumia 925 smartphone will launch next month at AT&T for just $99.99 on contract, the same price Nokia’s Lumia 920 and Lumia 900 debuted at last year. Spec highlights include an 8.7-megapixel PureView camera, a 4.5-inch AMOLED display (334 ppi), a dual-core Snapdragon processor and a 2,000 mAh battery good for 6.6 hours of continuous video playback per charge. Preorders for the Lumia 925 begin on August 28th and the phone will be available online and in AT&T stores beginning September 13th. AT&T’s full press release follows below. More →

Video: Nokia takes its best shot at Apple in latest Lumia ad

Aggressively mocking Apple has worked wonders for Samsung and Nokia looks like it’s trying to capture some of Samsung’s magic by releasing an iPhone-bashing ad of its own. In a new ad released this week, Nokia compares the quality of pictures taken with the iPhone 5 to pictures taken with the Lumia 925, which unsurprisingly look vastly better than Apple’s smartphone both with and without using flashes. Of course, it’s questionable whether focussing entirely on the Lumia 925’s camera quality without even once showing any other features will be enough to draw iOS and Android users to Nokia’s flagship phones. Nokia unveils Lumia 925 with aluminum body, PureView camera; headed to T-Mobile

Nokia on Tuesday unveiled its new Lumia 925 smartphone during a press conference in London. The struggling vendor’s new Windows Phone beats the same drum yet again in a number of ways, though there are a few notable changes this time around. For one, the Lumia 925 features an aluminum body instead of the polycarbonate case used on the Lumia 900 and Lumia 920. The phone also includes Nokia’s enhanced PureView with improved low-light shooting, and while Instagram still isn’t available for Windows Phone 8, the Lumia 925 includes a new “Smart Camera” function and it comes preloaded along with the popular photo filter app Hipstagram. Nokia Lumia 925 image leaks ahead of tomorrow’s press conference

An image of the unannounced Nokia Lumia 925 smartphone has leaked ahead of the device’s official debut, which is expected to take place during Nokia’s press conference on Tuesday. Twitter user @evleaks posted the image on Tuesday morning, and he has a very good track record when publishing photos of unannounced smartphones. Few details surrounding the Lumia 925 can be gleaned from the leaked image — the device obviously features the Windows Phone OS, and it also has a shape that appears to vary slightly from other recent Nokia smartphones. Nokia is expected to unveil the device on Tuesday morning during a press conference in London but in the meantime, the leaked image follows below. More →
