Nokia, Samsung and others team up to tackle indoor location-based services
Nokia (NOK) on Thursday announced “In-Location,” a task force made up of 22 companies across different industries that looks to improve indoor location-based services and solutions. Along with Nokia, founding members include Qualcomm (QCOM), Samsung (005930) and Sony (SNE), among others. After a series of pilot programs, the group hopes to implement primary solutions based on enhanced Bluetooth 4.0 low-energy technology and Wi-Fi standards into mobile devices by 2013. More →
