We’ll be reporting live as HTC unveils its ‘latest innovation’ at 3PM EDT

HTC is holding a press conference today at 3:00 p.m. Eastern, 12:00 p.m. Pacific to unveil its latest “latest innovation.” That innovation is expected to be a king-sized Android powerhouse dubbed “HTC Rezound” that is expected to land on Verizon Wireless ahead of the holidays. Beyond the presence of Beats Audio, as tipped in the event invitation pictured above, the Rezound will supposedly sport a 4.3-inch 720p HD display, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and an 8-megapixel camera, hopefully on par with the terrific camera touted by the Titan. Nothing is set in stone until it comes from from the horse’s mouth, however, and we only have a few hours left until HTC unveils the newest edition to its smartphone lineup.

HTC may announce HTC Rezound on November 3rd in NYC, aims to Beats the Galaxy Nexus

If you’re just waiting to blast some Beats audio-laden tunes from HTC’s latest and greatest, November 3rd will probably be a good day for you. That’s the date on the invitations HTC just sent out to the media, and we’re expecting the company to announce the HTC Rezound, also known by the code-name “HTC Vigor” for Verizon Wireless. The device should feature a 4.3-inch 720p HD display, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel camera and, of course, Beats audio. No word on whether or not Lady Gaga Beats headphones will ship with the device, though. We’ll be reporting live from the event next Thursday so stay tuned.

HTC Vigor could be first Beats by Dre phone

On Wednesday, HTC announced that it had invested $300 million in Beats by Dre, which will see its audio tech integrated into HTC phones moving forward. Now, rumor has it that HTC’s first smartphone to include Beats technology could be the Vigor, a device that is said to resemble the HTC Thunderbolt on Verizon. It could pack a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 16GB of storage, 1GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel camera, a 2-megapixel forward-facing camera for video chats and a 4.3-inch display with a 1280 x 720-pixel resolution according to rumors, but nothing is confirmed for the time being. The Vigor will also supposedly run Android 2.3.4 with version 3.5 of HTC’s Sense user interface. It is still unclear when the Vigor will see the light of day, but its spec sheet definitely has us excited. More →
