Bad news for anyone who’s been holding out for the M8-based HTC phablet: it looks like it’s been put on ice. @evleaks has learned that HTC has “indefinitely suspended” plans to release its HTC One (M8) Prime, which was set to be the company’s flagship phablet for 2014. More →

You’ll never guess the ‘exotic material’ that HTC may use for its new flagship phablet

As great as the HTC One (M8) is, it looks like the best is still yet to come from HTC. The reliable @evleaks claims that HTC’s upcoming One (M8) Prime flagship phablet will be “made out of an exotic material, a composite of aluminum and liquid silicone,” which Alpha Materials, Inc. informs us is almost as light as aluminum but is also significantly stronger. So from the sound of it, it looks as though HTC’s next major release will be even more durable than its current lineup of high-end smartphones. More →

HTC’s upcoming flagship phablet rumored to be an absolute beast

Last year’s flagship HTC One smartphone was later joined by a supersized HTC One max phablet, but the gigantic handset didn’t seem to gain much traction in a market dominated by the Galaxy Note 3 and other massive Samsung phones. The struggling smartphone maker is finally seeing some momentum thanks to its new HTC One (M8) flagship phone though, and it will apparently soon look to build on that momentum with a phablet currently being referred to as the “HTC One (M8) Prime.” More →
