The sequel to HTC’s One goes gold in newly leaked image

With just over a month between now and the official unveiling of the next flagship phone from HTC, the most reliable leaks of all have started to appear: press images. We got a close-up shot of the HTC M8 from @evleaks on Tuesday, and now the reliable source is back with an even better image. The latest leak, which can be seen above, provides us with multiple angles of “The All New HTC One,” this time with a gold finish. It’s also our best look yet at the dual rear camera lenses that have been mentioned in previous leaks. The phone is also likely to feature a 5-inch 1080p display, 2GB of RAM, a 5 ultrapixel camera, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and Android 4.4 KitKat.

HTC’s hot new flagship phone shown in highest quality pic yet

Although HTC’s followup to the HTC One won’t be announced for at least another month, we now know exactly what the device will look like thanks to a series of leaked pictures. The ever-reliable @evleaks has now posted the highest-quality picture of HTC’s new phone we’ve seen yet that shows us what the device will look like with an outer case. The picture again shows the biggest changes that HTC has made to the front of its flagship phone including on-screen buttons and light sensors that have been shifted over to the right-hand side of the phone next to the front-facing camera. In a followup message, @evleaks also confirms that the new HTC phone “really does have a second rear camera lens,” which confirms what we’ve seen in other leaked pictures showing the phone’s rear casing. @evleaks’ HTC M8 picture follows below. HTC’s answer to the Galaxy S5 will be unveiled on March 25th

The wait for HTC’s next flagship device is nearly over. According to an invite sent out to the press on Tuesday, HTC is planning to reveal the HTC M8 on March 25th at events taking place simultaneously in New York and London. It appears that HTC will be avoiding the madhouse that is the Mobile World Congress in favor of an event dedicated solely to its own smartphone. Considering how many companies are already using MWC as a hub for major announcements, it might be the smartest play for the struggling phone maker. The invitation does not reveal the name of the phone or any details about the device whatsoever, so we’ll have to wait until March 25th to find out more. Get a look at the invitation below. More →

We now know exactly what HTC’s followup to the HTC One will look like. @HTCFamily_RU has posted a pair of leaked pictures showing the real HTC M8, the next flagship phone that HTC will unveil in the hopes of taking on Samsung and its Galaxy S5. The new pictures look much the same as the leaked HTC M8 pictures we saw last week, as the front of the device in both pictures features light sensors that have been shifted over to the right-hand side of the phone next to the front-facing camera. The back of the new HTC flagship phone looks slightly more rounded than the original HTC One and features dual rear-facing cameras. Other reported specs for the device include a 5-inch 1080p display, a 5 ultrapixel camera, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and Android 4.4 KitKat. Both leaked images follow below. More →

HTC’s next flagship phone shown in highest-quality pic yet

There have been several dubious leaked pictures of HTC’s next flagship smartphone but one new picture seems to look more like the real deal than most. @HTCFamily.ru has posted a picture purportedly showing HTC’s followup to the HTC One that has a lot of the features that we expect to see on the new device based on previous leaks, including buttons placed directly on the display and light sensors that have been shifted over to the right-hand side of the phone next to the front-facing camera. PocketNow’s Stephen Schenck expresses some skepticism about the image’s authenticity but he says that he’s still “become quite confident that what we’re looking at in images like this one is indeed what we’ll see, come launch day.” The leaked purported HTC One sequel picture follows below. Leaked images show dual cameras on HTC’s ‘M8′ hero phone

Following a series of leaks last week, new photos may reveal even more details surrounding the upcoming “HTC M8,” the code-name for the follow-up to last year’s flagship HTC One smartphone. On Friday we saw a leaked screenshot that reveals HTC’s new BlinkFeed interface, and now Nowhereelse.fr has dug up a few new photos posted to Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo that seemingly show an M8 powered on. The images, which have since been deleted from Weibo, show several changes to the device compared to HTC’s 2013 flagship phone, including on-screen navigation buttons that replace the physical capacitive buttons from the HTC One, and dual cameras that could point to 3D photo and video capture capabilities on HTC’s 2014 hero phone. HTC One successor said to feature 5-inch 1080p display and KitKat

Back in April, we called the HTC One the closest thing the world has ever seen to a no-compromise smartphone. Four months later when we pitted it against Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S4, we said the HTC One was still the best smartphone on the planet. While HTC has struggled to get the phone into consumers’ hands thanks to tremendous competition (and massive marketing budgets) from Apple and Samsung, those who have bought the One seem to enjoy it very much for the most part. According to a new rumor, the One is about to get even better. More →
