Apple updates iTunes to 10.2, adds iOS 4.3 support and improved Home Sharing

Apple on Wednesday released an update to its iTunes software. The update comes following its media event where the new iPad 2 was finally unveiled. iTunes 10.2 doesn’t add any major functionality to the software, listing only two features in the accompanying change log:

  • Sync with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 4.3.
  • Improved Home Sharing. Browse and play from your iTunes libraries with Home Sharing on any iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 4.3.

Apple’s iTunes 10.2 software is available immediately and can be downloaded from Apple’s iTunes page, which is linked below. More →

Looks like what we reported turned out to be true — social networking sharing (sending information to Facebook and Twitter as well as app organization). Apple’s iTunes 9 is now officially official and there’s some great features in here. Application organization for iPhone/iPod touch apps, home sharing which will share your entire iTunes content on up to five machines, support for iTunes LP (referred to as project Cocktail in the past) and much more. It’s available now.
