Apple reportedly rushing to find apps to show off iPad 3 Retina Display

Apple is in “crunch mode” to line up apps that will be used for on-stage demonstrations during the company’s iPad 3 launch event, which is said to be scheduled for early next month, TheNextWeb reports. The Cupertino-based company is now looking for apps that will show off the stunning quality of the iPad 3′s high-resolution Retina Display. Apple works with partners to hand-pick apps that highlight the capabilities of new devices during major announcements, and the selection process for Apple’s iPad 3 is now said to be nearing its final phase. T-Mobile slashes prices on Samsung Comeback and Highlight

T-Mobile slashes prices on Samsung Comeback and Highlight

Talk about a shameless early adopter tax… T-Mobile released the Samsung Comeback just a week ago and it has already chopped the handset’s price down by $55 to $74.99 after MIR — a 42 percent drop! The Samsung Highlight, released one week earlier on July 15th, has also been trimmed from $149.99 to a still-too-much-for-too-little $129.99. Actually, both handsets are still priced a bit high if you ask us. For anyone with a tween child/sibling whose birthday is coming up soon, here’s a refresher: The Comeback is a 3G-enabled handset with a full-QWERTY keypad beneath the flip, 2 megapixel camera, MP3 player and microSDHC support. The Highlight is is full touchscreen 3G phone with a 3 megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth, A-GPS and microSDHC support as well. Yeah, neither handset is going to blow anyone’s hair back but as long as you toss an unlimited messaging plan into the mix, we’re sure it’ll make any tween happy.

Thanks, Jordan!

T-Mobile to launch the Samsung Highlight on July 15th, too

T-Mobile to launch the Samsung Highlight on July 15th, too

Well, we can’t have the new Dash 3G getting lonely now can we? All set for a July 15th launch alongside Tmo’s updated Dash (aka HTC Snap), our ninja just dropped screen caps of this entry-levelish full touchscreen offering from Samsung on us. It definitely has the tween demo lined up in its sights with specs that include a 3.1 megapixel camera with auto-focus, video recording support, Bluetooth, GPS, multimedia player, integrated IM and a microSD slot. No word on pricing just yet but our ninja says it will definitely be on the cheap side of the spectrum. What say you, T-Mobile customers — going for the Dash 3G or the Highlight on the 15th? Hit the jump for a larger version of the image above along with two more screen caps.

Thanks, Spenny!
