Microsoft outs Halo 4, Kinect Sports Season 2

During the Microsoft press conference at E3 in Los Angeles on Monday, Microsoft showed off a quick sneak-peak of Halo 4, a new trilogy that will begin when the title launches during the holiday season of 2012. Microsoft didn’t discuss much else about the game, but it did also announce that Xbox 360 owners will soon be able to get their hands on Kinect Sports Season 2, which will include golf, baseball, skiing, tennis, and football. Kinect Sports Season 2 is expected to land in time for the holiday season this year.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters sells 225k in first week, beats records

Electronics Arts has announced that Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters has beat all previous first-week sales records in its Tiger Woods game franchise history. According to Gamasutra, the title sold 225,000 copies during its first week, and early estimates suggest it earned twice the revenue of last year’s game. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters is the first game in the family to allow players to hit the links at the famous Augusta National golf club —  roughly 2 million rounds through that course have already been played. Similarly, players have already hit 182 million shots in the game, and 7 million games have been logged since the title’s launch on March 29th. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters, is available on all of the major gaming consoles, including the Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, and the Nintendo Wii. More →

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 now $4.99 in honor of Masters

If you’re throwing your chips at the TV wondering why Tiger can’t break into the top five during this year’s Master’s Tournament, then pick up a set of clubs and hit the links yourself. EA has dropped the price of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 to $4.99 — from it’s original $6.99 price – in honor of the Masters Tournament. We wrote up the game’s launch on March 29th and have really been enjoying the gameplay. The graphics have improved vastly from the original and we like the multiplayer option for competing against friends. We’re not sure how long the price drop will remain in effect, though, so jump over to your local iTunes App Store and download a copy. Shoot’em straight. More →

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 for iOS now available

Look, we know what it feels like to be the only one left in the office while the senior partners all go out for a not-so-quick 18. But that’s OK, because today EA launched Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 for the iPhone and iPod touch ($6.99) and iPad ($9.99). The updated game allows you to hit the links on championship courses, including TPC Sawgrass, Pebble Beach, and St. Andrews, all from the comfort of your cubicle. We fired up the game today and loved the multiplayer option, which allows you to challenge friends over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth — you can also find friends ready to hit the links by signing into Facebook. The graphics look like they have been totally overhauled from the original, iPhone Tiger Woods game, but the controls remain just as easy — you pull your finger down to swing back, throw it forward to swing through, and add spin to the ball by swiping like a madman. We’re definitely impressed with the game so far and think it’s a worthy update to the original. All those years of sleep-away golf camp are finally paying off. Hit the jump for the iTunes link.
