TomTom pushing HD Traffic service to U.S. drivers

TomTom has announced that its HD Traffic service, originally only available on the Go 2535 M LIVE personal navigation device, is now available for all drivers using its LIVE products. HD Traffic updates drivers every two minutes with road conditions, and it gathers its data from a variety of sources — including from other driers on the road with HD Traffic — to steer you towards the fastest possible route. The service is available on the GO 740 LIVE, XL 340 LIVE, and GO 2535 M LIVE, and TomTom dropped the subscription price from $119.95 per year to $59.95 per year. Hit the jump for the full release. AT&T introduces Pay-As-You-Go international data plans for laptops and netbooks

Recently, AT&T announced new Pay-As-You-Go international data packages for netbook and laptop users. The new, 30-day plans start at 20MB for $24.99 and go all the way up to 200MB for $199.99. “Data sessions may be purchased using a credit card or a debit card. Customers can also bill the charges to their wireless bill provided the postpaid wireless account has been active more than 90 days and has no past due charges,” reads the press release. The company will also allow users to schedule when the 30-day pass begins to take effect. The four announced plans are as follows:

  • DataConnect Pass Global 20MB for $24.99
  • DataConnect Pass Global 50MB for $59.99
  • DataConnect Pass Global 100MB for $119.99
  • DataConnect Pass Global 200MB for $199.99

AT&T offering new GoPhone plans starting October 3

AT&T has just sent out a quick press release to inform us of several new prepaid GoPhone plans they will be launching on October 3. The company will offer an “Unlimited Daily Talk and Text” plan which will afford customers the “flexibility of unlimited calling and texting with the two dollar rate plan charge only applying on days when they make or receive voice calls, use IM or send a text, picture or video message.” AT&T will also be offering a more traditional $60 per month “Unlimited Talk & Text” plan; 200 MB of data can be added to the plan for an additional $15. Finally, AT&T will be offering a “Simple Rate” plan that bills users $0.10 per minute for calls made and received. “AT&T GoPhone unlimited plans include nationwide calling and texting, as well as texting to Mexico, Canada and more than 100 countries worldwide,” writes AT&T. AT&T offers Pay-As-You-Go data services on three new computing devices

Today, AT&T announced the availability of three new mobile-broadband computing devices: the Acer Aspire AS1830, Acer Aspire One 532h, and the Dell Inspire Mini 10D. The Aspire AS1830 is a full-fledged laptop that comes with an Intel Core i3 processor, 2 GB RAM, 250 MB hard drive, 11.6-inch display, 1.3 megapixel webcam, and Windows 7 Home Premium. The AS1830 will retail for $239.99 on a two-year contract. The Aspire One 523h and Dell Mini 10D both fall into the netbook category, with 10.1-inch displays, Intel N450 Atom processors, and Windows 7 Starter Edition; both units will retail for $39.99 with a two-year contract. The devices will also be able to leverage AT&T’s Pay-As-You-Go plans for connectivity; $15 for one-day 100 MB plan, $30 for one-week 300 MB plan, $50 for one-month 1 GB plan.
