Smartphones and tablets running Apple’s (AAPL) iOS platform and Google’s (GOOG) Android OS are big this year — so big that traditional toy makers are terrified they might soon be obsolete. If you’re one of the tens of thousands of people young and old who just unwrapped a brand new iPad, Android device, iPod touch or iPhone, Gameloft has made figuring out where to start fairly easy for you by putting dozens of mobile games on sale for just $0.99 each. Popular titles include “Asphalt 7: Heat,” “The Dark Knight Rises,” “The Amazing Spider-Man,” “Where’s Waldo Now?,” “Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour” and more. Dozens of other Gameloft games are free and you can browse through all the company’s titles via the source links below.

Gameloft teases first Unreal Engine game, promises lots of blood

Gameloft Unreal Engine Game

French mobile video game developer and publisher Gameloft (GFT) on Thursday teased its first title that will be powered by Epic Games’s Unreal gaming engine. The company posted a teaser image on its Facebook page and asked users if they could spot a hint that is hidden in the artwork. Users who “Liked” the image were also able to vote on the next hint — a teaser trailer or a second image. Based on the image above, gamers can expect a lot of blood and violence from the company’s upcoming title. Unfortunately, Gameloft didn’t reveal whether the game will be available for iOS or Android, however rumors suggest the latter as more likely. More →

Gameloft has Starfront: Collision, Sacred Odyssey: Rise of Ayden, Shrek Kart and dozens more up for grabs, each for just a dollar. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Shadow Vanguard for iOS now available

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Shadow Vanguard for iOS now available

We used to love the Tom Clancy PC titles growing up. Sitting at our computer, bag of Doritos, fingers moving effortlessly across the WSAD keys, eyeing the screen, and tapping our mouse to fire off perfectly executed head shots. Now, that’s possible on your iPhone. Tom Clancy’s Rainbox Six Shadow Vanguard from Gameloft is now available in the iTunes App Store for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Like the classic Rainbow Six games, your job is to lead a Rainbow Unit through 11 different missions as you work to rid the world of terrorists. You’ll start the game with Operation: Steel Wind where your goal is to take out a terrorist organization called “Free Europe” which has taken over the Belgian Embassy in London. Like other Rainbow Six titles, you’ll have access to a tactical map, but you can’t plan a route ahead of time. We usually prefer solo first person shooters, but we have to admit we had fun managing our team and telling them to take cover, fire on enemies, or lob grenades.  Controls were easy and the graphics looked pretty stellar. We haven’t had a chance to try it yet, but there’s also multiplayer support where you can frag with up to ten other players, or go through the campaign with a friend in co-op mode. Rainbow Six Shadow Vanguard is available now in the iTunes App Store for  $6.99. More →

Gameloft releases Terminator Salvation for iPhone trailer

Screenshots of Gameloft’s upcoming Terminator Salvation title for the iPhone first slipped out about a month ago and since then, some early coverage from testers has whet our appetite for the upcoming shooter. By all accounts, Terminator Salvation is shaping up to be one of the most impressive examples of gaming goodness to hit the iPhone yet. Now, thanks to the newly available game trailer, we can all have a taste of what to expect when Salvation finally does drop. Jibing with reports from early testers, the game looks smooth, complex and most definitely action-packed. Gameloft definitely looks to be upping the ante with this one. By the way, Gameloft, toss in an easter egg involving a screaming Christian Bale and a stunned director of photography and we’ll by 20 copies. Each. Hit the jump for the trailer.
