Samsung Galaxy Stellar coming to Verizon for free on September 6th

Samsung Galaxy Stellar Release Date

Breaking away from the flagship Galaxy S III for a second, Samsung (005930) and Verizon Wireless (VZ) announced on Tuesday that they will begin selling a budget-friendly Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich 4G LTE smartphone on September 6th. The Galaxy Stellar has a 4-inch 800 x 480-pixel display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 3.2-megapixel rear/1.3-megapixel front cameras, a microSD card slot for storage (max 32GB) and as leaked earlier, it will come with a suite of Amazon apps that should make finding digital content a simpler task. Interested parties can pick up a Galaxy Stellar at Verizon Wireless retail stores and online for free after a $50 mail-in rebate with a two-year contract. More →

Samsung and Amazon may team up for Galaxy Stellar on Verizon

Samsung Amazon Partnership

A mystery device known as the Samsung (005930) Galaxy Stellar will reportedly launch on Verizon Wireless (VZ) for $99.99 with a new two-year agreement, according to Droid-Life. The interesting thing about the Android-powered Stellar, however, is that it will include Amazon Apps rather than Google’s (GOOG), possibly indicating a partnership between the online retail giant and the world’s top smartphone vendor. Little is known about the handset, although it will reportedly include 4G LTE connectivity and an “easy-to-use Starter mode [with] on-device help.” Amazon (AMZN) is scheduled to hold a press event on September 6th and is expected to announce at least one follow-up to its Kindle Fire tablet.
