Video: LG invents a novel new way to unlock your smartphone

Instead of using a PIN number or drawing a pattern on the screen to unlock a phone, LG G Pro 2 buyers will be able to use a completely different screen unlock mechanism called Knock Code. After establishing certain “knock” sequences, users will be able to unlock their devices and lock them back after they’re done using the handsets. A couple of videos show how Knock Code works, a software feature that will be able to recognize over 86,000 knock combinations. More →

Smartphones with monster screens might actually be manageable this year

The LG G Pro 2 will reportedly pack an even slimmer bezel than the LG G2, according to South Korean publication fnnews. The device, which LG confirmed it will unveil at MWC 2014 this month, will reportedly have a 5.9-inch display and a bezel that is just 0.4 millimeters thick. LG reveals some features its new flagship phone will use to combat Samsung

After quietly confirming that the LG G Pro 2 will be launched at MWC 2014, LG on Tuesday has taken another step towards unveiling its specs by posting official details regarding the camera features of the handset. According to a press release posted on its South Korean website, the G Pro 2 will sport a 13-megapixel camera with an improved “OIS Plus” optical image stabilization technology that combines hardware and software stabilization features for better results, and 4K ultra HD (3840 x 2160) video recording capabilities. This is LG’s next flagship phone

LG’s next flagship phone, which will debut next month during the annual Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona, has been pictured for the first time. The consumer electronics giant already confirmed the handset’s nameG Pro 2 — and said that it will debut in February at MWC. While LG wouldn’t confirm any additional details surrounding its new phone, rumored specs include a 6-inch display with full HD (1,920 x 1,080) resolution, a Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB of RAM, LTE-Advanced support and Android 4.4 KitKat.As can be seen in one of the newly leaked photos posted on the DC Inside forum, the handset will also feature the rear-mounted power and volume buttons found on the G2 and G Flex. In addition to presenting its earnings report for the fourth quarter of 2013, LG on Monday issued a small press release to confirm the name of its next flagship handset – the LG G Pro 2, as previously rumored – revealing that the handset will be unveiled at some point in February, likely at the MWC 2014 show that will take place in Barcelona, Spain at the end of next month. New flagship LG phablet with premium specs tipped for February debut

LG will reportedly unveil a new flagship smartphone at MWC 2014 that will sport premium features, Korean publication etnews says. The LG G Pro 2 is rumored to pack a 6-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB of RAM, LTE-Advanced support and Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. A previous report from the publication hinted that LG may launch two Android devices with fingerprint scanners, including the LG G3 and possibly the LG G Pro 2.
