New pics of the Motorola RAZR3 emerge

moto-razr3-4

We’re sure by now you’ve all seen the video overview of the Motorola RAZR3, so instead of running with that we thought we’d do our part by sharing some previously unseen photos of the now defunct handset. There’s really nothing for us to say about the flip phone that packs a 5 megapixel camera, GPS, Wi-Fi, 3G and Symbian UIQ, but it’s always neat to see what might have been, right? Hit the jump for some more pics!

Hands on with Microsoft Office for Mac 2011

office-mac-2011-excel-2

Over the past few days we’ve been playing around the latest beta release of Microsoft Office for Mac 2011. Many of the changes made are hard to appreciate without actually seeing the application suite in use, and for that reason alone we have assembled a massive gallery of screenshots. On the other hand, images can be meaningless without a bit of an explanation so we’ve put down a brief summary of our initial thoughts. You can check them all out after the jump. More →

AT&T 3G MicroCells finally going national?

att-microcell-national-2

Want to know what’s in those boxes pictured above? We bet you do, and since we love you, we’re going to tell you. They’re AT&T 3G MicroCells. According to several of our AT&T connects, they’ve hot off the delivery truck as AT&T’s national 3G MicroCell rollout has finally begun. Now, we should caution you that we’ve not been able to completely verify that this is nothing more than another one of those boring gradual rollouts, but based upon how many cities we’ve heard reports from, we think it’s safe to say you’ll be able to get your own real soon. Hit the jump for some eye candy. More →

Rogers announces the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10

rogers-xperia-x10-docs

It’s not available in stores, through the phone, or online just yet, but Rogers has officially launched the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10. In an email memo sent out minutes ago, Rogers announced to its employees that the Android smartphone is now shipping from their warehouses and should arrive within the next three days. Want one? That’ll be $149.99 on contract or $549.99 without. Just keep in mind this phone lacks multitouch as you stand at the till, okay? We wouldn’t want you getting a case of buyer’s remorse.

Samsung Reality becomes real, hits Verizon on April 22nd

vzw-samsung-reality2

One of our trusty Verizon Wireless sources has let us know that Verizon will be launching the Samsung Reality on April 22nd. It’s definitely not a smartphone, but the Reality will pack enough punch to get most people happily through the day with 3″ touchscreen, horizontal QWERTY slider, 3.2 megapixel camera, VZ Navigator, V CAST, visual voicemail, 3.5mm headphone jack and one-touch access to your favorite social networking sites. We’ve yet to establish what the Reality will go for, but we can’t imagine it setting you back more than a Benjamin. Just make sure you budget north of $9.99 per month for a data plan, okay?

BlackBerry Bold 9650 and LG Fathom show up in Verizon Wireless' systems

vzw-bb-bold

We know there’s a big Apple iPhone announcement looming over, but that still shouldn’t stop some of those Verizon faithfuls from getting excited over brand new devices, right? We’ve scored shots of the BlackBerry Bold 9650 and LG Fathom making its way into Verizon’s internal systems. Most of you know all about the 9650, but the Fathom VS750, is a global Windows Phone with a QWERTY slider, 3.2″ WVGA display and 3.2 megapixel shooter. Couple this discovery with Verizon’s teaser that went out about six new devices coming, we should probably assume that the wait is almost over folks. Hit the break for a shot of the Fathom resting easy in Big Red’s system. More →

About those upcoming Verizon phones…

verizon-devices

We haven’t been able to independently verify this in any way, but nonetheless we thought we’d share it with everyone as it makes a lot of sense. One our of Verizon connects hit us up last night and let us know what they’ve heard are five of the six upcoming handsets VZW was teasing about yesterday: the HTC Incredible, LG VS750, Microsoft’s “Pure” and “Turtle” and the Samsung Reality. As we mentioned, our connect isn’t sure what the sixth is, but we’re guessing it could be either the BlackBerry Bold 9650 or even Verizon’s Google Nexus One. Anyone hear otherwise?

Thanks, VZW!

One of our Bell connects was kind enough to pass along an internal memo regarding the carrier’s upcoming release of the BlackBerry Storm2. According to the document, it will be available on April 13th for $349.95 on a 3-year contract before data subsidies are applied. Add in a voice and data subsidy and you’re looking at $199.95, a whole $40 cheaper than TELUS. Hit the jump to check out the all of the pricing options.

Sprint to communicate a "big program" to employees on March 31st

Sprint to communicate a "big program" to employees on March 31st

sprint_logo2

Don’t ask us for a lot of specifics because even our tipsters don’t have them, but we’re hearing Sprint has a pretty big internal announcement penciled in for this week. Several employees hit us up over the weekend after having allegedly received a memo from the bigwigs informing them of a mandatory meeting which will take place after local shops close up on the 31st (apparently the high-ups “don’t want to spoil the surprise”). All we can do at this point is speculate about what Hesse & Co. could possibly have up their sleeves, but some of our new connects think it might have something to do with Sprint going nuclear, as people who haven’t paid attention to it in the past now have their eyes glued thanks to the sudden awareness of 4G WiMAX owing to the HTC EVO 4G. We’ve got our eye on you, Sprint.

Verizon already training some employees on Nexus One?

verizon-wireless-logo1

We don’t have a whole lot to go on, other than a couple of emails that were bounced around by some curious customers and some rather knowledgeable reps, but it certainly looks to us as if Verizon has begun training — at least some of its employees — on an EV-DO variant of the Google Nexus One. A tentative release date has not yet been communicated trough the chain of command, but apparently this sucker will be sold in Big Red’s retail stores across the country once it’s available. Again, this is about as confirmed (or unconfirmed) as it gets, and we’re merely passing it on to our readers because…well, we love you guys and gals to death. Don’t come kicking in our doors if it doesn’t exactly pan out.

Thanks Kappy!

Behold Verizon's Black Friday sale

verizon-wireless-logo1

One of our Verizon connects was kind enough to hit us up with some info regarding Big Red’s upcoming Black Friday sale which will be going on all weekend. Sadly we weren’t told anything about super hot smartphones like the DROID, Storm2 and Touch Pro2, but we’d like to think that at least one of those phones will have a few bucks knocked off of its sticker price. Having said that, these deals are definitely worth checking out, so here we go:

  • Gateway LT Netbook: $29.99 after $100 MIR
  • Blackberry Pearl Flip: $9.99 after $100 MIR [BOGO]
  • HTC Ozone: $9.99 after $100 MIR [BOGO]
  • LG Glance: $0
  • LG Versa: $29.99 after $50 MIR [BOGO]
  • Mifi 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot: $49.99 after $50 MIR. (Black Friday only)
  • Motorola Entice $19.99 after $50 MIR [BOGO]
  • Motorola VU204: $0
  • Nokia 7705 Twist: $29.99 after $50 MIR
  • Samsung Smooth: $0 after $50 MIR

In addition to what’s listed above, anyone purchasing an LG enV3 or enV Touch on Black Friday will receive a free LG HBM-210 Bluetooth headset.

Anyone seeing anything they wouldn’t mind picking up, or are you going to be trying your luck elsewhere?
