Images of Motorola’s Daytona, DROID 3, and LTE Targa surface online, headed to Verizon

Howard Forums member wnrussell has treated us to images of three unannounced handsets from Motorola — all of which look set to launch on Verizon Wireless sometime in the future. Details are scarce on all three devices, but we gain a bit of information from looking at the photographs. Above is a handset being called the Motorola Targa. It looks to be an LTE, Android device with an HDMI-out port and front-facing camera. Several Howard Forums members performed some CSI-style enhancements to the image and believe the camera sitting behind that rear protrusion reads “13MP” — 13 megapixels. Next on the list is a handset being called the DROID 3. The image of the DROID 3 was provided a la carte with no details, but we can see that the device appears to have a much thinner screen wrapped in an attractive chrome bezel along with a front-facing camera. The last image is a handset that looks nearly identical to the current DROID X, and was posted as having the name Daytona. The device is running Android 2.2.1 and bears the model number MB870 — the original DROID X has a model number of MB810. We’re not really sure about this handset, as it doesn’t seem as though it will serve much of a purpose with this Targa character hanging around. It could, however, be an earlier prototype that has been scratched. It’s pretty exciting stuff for those Motorola DROID fans out there. Hit the jump to check out the additional images. More →
