BlackBerry Curve 8900 finally shows its face on BlackBerry NA site

Now that the BlackBerry Curve 8900 is finally official with our friends up north, RIM decided it should finally get around to providing some product info on its North American site. Sure, BGR readers have known just about everything there is to know about this sleek handset for months now but its always nice to see a highly-anticipated handset inch closer to becoming a reality in the US. Accessories have been up on the site for a while now but the addition of main product info pages, an interactive demo and more are sure to warm the hearts of North American BlackBerry addicts across the continent. So – if trading 3G for a smaller build and a 3.2 megapixel camera sounds like your cup of tea, hopefully a US carrier announcement isn’t too far off.

Thanks, Erik!

BlackBerry Curve 8900 accessories pop up on BlackBerry US site; handset to follow soon?

BlackBerry Curve 8900 accessories pop up on BlackBerry US site; handset to follow soon?

This might be a bit of a stretch brought on by wishful thinking, but RIM has most definitely been sneaky with the Curve 8900 thus far so you never know. An eagle-eyed reader came across some interesting accessory listings on the US BlackBerry shop site, and at the very least you’ve got to raise an eyebrow. A quick peak at the accessory section reveals that the Curve 8900 is now indeed listed among the handset options when narrowing down accessories. What’s more, all 8900 accessories including a variety of cases, a couple of Micro-USB cables and a desktop charging pod, have a listed arrival date of December 5th. Does that mean we can expect the handset to become available at some point before then? Hmm – why would BlackBerry customers need Curve 8900 accessories on December 5th without being able to purchase the Curve 8900? Kinda makes you wonder…

Thanks, MP!

BlackBerry Curve 8900 emulator now available

RIM is just on fire lately. After a quick 8900 sneak attack from Germany and this morning’s little Storm announcement, what more could you want? Well, more info on the Curve 8900′s US release most likely, but you know what they say about patience being a virtue. In the meantime if you really can’t wait to get your hands on a Curve 8900 to play with, this might tide you over – for about 10 minutes at least. RIM has made the 4.6.1 emulator software available for download from the BlackBerry site for all you developers and serious addicts out there. It’s just like the real thing, right? Yeah, not so much. At least you can get a feel for the 4.6 OS as you anxiously await the real thing…

BlackBerry Curve 8900 pops up on BlackBerry Germany site

BlackBerry Curve 8900 pops up on BlackBerry Germany site

Well lookie here. We gave you a little hands-on love last month and as our Curve 8900 gets ready to do battle in an upcoming comparison post or two, German BlackBerry fans just got a hell of a shock. The 8900 is now live on the BlackBerry Germany site and apparently almost ready to rock. Looking sexy as ever, the Curve 8900 on the site comes along with a bunch of marketing speak and complete specs. In terms of pricing or timing, it looks like T-Mobile will begin shipping this puppy within a week or two and and it will set you back a paltry €5 with a 2-year contract and a pretty reasonable €360, contract-free. Hit the read link if you read German or jump directly to the translated version.

[Thanks, Hugh!]

BlackBerry super-phone in the works, Storm 2 and 3 coming soon

BlackBerry super-phone in the works, Storm 2 and 3 coming soon

We don’t have too much info to go off of at this point in time, but if you are still waiting to get your hands on the Pearl Flip 8220, Curve 8900, Bold, or Storm, we’re about to screw you up real quick. We’ve now confirmed from 2 independent sources that RIM is working on a device that will blow the roof off all previous models. Ready for it? 5 megapixel auto-focus camera, 1GB of RAM so your precious worthless apps don’t cause memory leaks, and a “near-HD quality” screen. We’re honestly not sure about the form-factor but we heard this device could be sort of a Bold and Storm mashup. Either Treo-esque or a slide-out device. One last thing… we have also heard from a different source that RIM is hard at work on a second generation Storm device and they’ve even started the first stages of a third generation Storm. That’s all we’ve got for now, but you know we’ll be on this quicker than a plus-sized girl on a jar of Mayo. Who’s your favorite blogger?
