Adobe Creative Suite 6 now available, cloud add-on coming May 11th

Adobe CS6 now available

Following an unveiling last month, Adobe on Monday announced that its Creative Suite 6 software is now available for purchase and its Creative Cloud solution will become available on May 11th. “We announced Creative Cloud and CS6 two weeks ago and these releases have caught the imagination of creatives everywhere,” Adobe’s SVP of digital media, David Wadhwani, said in a statement. “Today we’re shipping CS6 and look forward to the beginning of an exciting new era as we introduce Creative Cloud later this week.” Pricing ranges from $1,299 for the base edition of CS6 to $2,599 for the “Master Collection,” and upgrades from previous versions start at $300. The software and updates are also available at no additional charge alongside a Creative Cloud subscription, which ranges from $49.99 to $74.99 per month for new customers and starts at just $29.99 per month for customers upgrading from earlier versions. Adobe Photoshop CS6 beta now available for free

Adobe on Thursday released its Photoshop CS6 beta with a new, faster and more modern user interface, re-engineered design tools and content-aware patching. “Photoshop CS6 will be a milestone release that pushes the boundaries of imaging innovation with incredible speed and performance,” said Winston Hendrickson, vice president products, Creative Media Solutions, Adobe. “We couldn’t wait to share this beta of Photoshop CS6 with our customers and are looking forward to hearing from them and seeing the ways they are incorporating the beta into their daily creative workflows.” The download is roughly 1GB and comes with “all the features in Photoshop CS6 and Photoshop CS6 Extended.” PC users are required to have a 2GHz or faster processor with at least 1GB of RAM, while Mac users who have a multicore Intel processor and 1GB of RAM should be fine.
