Today, Verizon Wireless announced the pricing and availability of its mid-range, full-touchscreen smartphone, the Motorola Citrus. For those that need a quick refresher, the Cirtus is and Android 2.1 handset with a 3.0-inch QVGA display, Wi-Fi b/g, Bluetooth 2.0, GPS, 3 megapixel digital camera, EV-DO Rev. 0, SWYPE keyboard, and the MOTOBLUR UI. According to a set of newly leaked screen shots purported to depict Verizon Wireless’ internal system, three new phones will be released by the nation’s top carrier next week. The most impressive of the trio is certainly the Samsung Continuum, a unique Android smartphone many believe will be unveiled at Samsung’s event next week. The Continuum features a 3.4-inch Super-AMOLED touchscreen display with a secondary 1.8-inch Super-AMOLED display beneath it, mobile hotspot capability, a 5-megapixel camera with HD video recording, 2GB of internal storage, microSDHC support and Android 2.1. The entry-level Motorola CITRUS, announced last month, features a 3-inch QVGA touchscreen display, Android 2.1 with MOTOBLUR and mapping services powered by Microsoft Bing. Finally, the Samsung Zeal is an update to the Alias 2, featuring an E Ink QWERTY keypad, a 2.6-inch QVGA display and a 2-megapixel camera. It looks like Verizon Wireless will be sharpening up their entire phone lineup in time for the holidays. Engadget has just published an excerpt from Verizon’s latest cell phone rebate sheet, and the discount-document has quite a story to tell. The document details several Motorola devices; including the DROID Pro, Citrus, and two SKUs for the DROID 2 Global. The two-SKU listing for the DROID 2 could indicate one model with a camera and one model without, or that the handset will come in two different colors. Today, Verizon Wireless announced the addition of two Motorola, Android handset to their smartphone lineup, the DROID Pro and CITRUS. The DROID Pro is a candybar-style, Android 2.2, world-phone that is, to be blunt, not what anyone really expected.
