Prepaid Apple iPhone 5 Release Date

Cricket Communicationsannounced on Thursday that it will sell Apple’s (AAPL) iPhone 5 on September 28th, exactly one week after it first launches on September 21st. The wireless company best known for its off-contract plans didn’t immediately disclose which iPhone 5 models would be available with its prepaid plans, nor did it discuss pricing. One thing is for sure: Cricket’s iPhone 5 won’t come at on-contract prices of $199 (16GB), $299 (32GB) and $399 (64GB). For reference, Cricket sells the 8GB iPhone 4 for $399.99 and the iPhone 4S for $499.99. Prepaid users can likely expect pricing along those lines or higher.

Regional carrier C Spire to launch Apple iPhone 4S with unlimited data plans on November 11th

Regional carrier C Spire, not T-Mobile, will become the fourth wireless carrier in the United States to offer Apple’s iPhone 4S to its customers. C Spire announced last month that it would soon carry Apple’s latest iPhone, and on Tuesday it announced launch details. The carrier will offer Apple’s 16GB ($199), 32GB ($299) and 64GB ($399) iPhone 4S models beginning November 11th, and plans will cost between $50 and $100 per month. C Spire also joins Sprint in offering unlimited messaging and data services with each iPhone 4S plan in its portfolio, though unlimited data on its two base plans excludes streaming. “As a carrier dedicated to delivering the best personalized wireless experience, we’re proud to offer the amazing new iPhone 4S to our customers,” said C Spire CEO Hu Meena in a statement. “iPhone 4S offers an abundance of new features, and with our Choice Infinite data plans customers can enjoy all of them on our network without having to think about their next bill.” C Spire will also carry Apple’s iPhone 4 for $99 on contract. The carrier’s full press release follows below. Regional carrier C Spire Wireless to offer iPhone 4S

Until now, iPhone has only been offered by America’s largest wireless carriers but that will soon change when C Spire Wireless, formerly known as Cellular South, announced it will soon carry Apple’s iPhone 4S. C Spire Wireless, which offers nationwide roaming through an agreement with Sprint, did not reveal a specific launch date but said that pre-orders for the phone will begin in the coming weeks. We expect the pricing to be competitive with Sprint, Verizon and AT&T. The iPhone 4S offers a dual-core Apple A5 processor, an improved 8-megapixel camera capable of recording 1080p video, new Siri voice commands and more.
