DROID 3, LG Revolution, and all of Verizon’s 4G LTE Hotspots to be discontinued in January, report claims

In 2011, carriers and manufacturers were releasing smartphones at such short intervals that within weeks, your once new and high-end device would most likely already be outdated. Unfortunately, it looks like things won’t be slowing down in 2012. After a mere six months on the market, Verizon Wireless has issued an end-of-life discontinuation for the Motorola DROID 3, The Verge reports. The article also claims that Verizon has issued EOL’s for the Blackberry Curve 3G, Palm Pre 2, LG Revolution and all of their 4G LTE Mi-Fi Hotspots. The carrier will soon be left with not a single LTE hotspot and a hole in its smartphone line up, however, we expect to see an array of new devices at the Consumer Electronics Show which kicks off January 10th. Confirmed: BlackBerry Curve 3G coming to WIND Mobile

Over the last several days, rumors have been swirling that the BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 would be making its way to WIND Mobile — especially after the device surfaced in RIM’s software database. Now, one of our ninjas from the North has sent us visual confirmation of the device in Wind Mobile’s inventory system. Judging by the two listings, it appears as though the handset will be offered in two colors; we’re assuming a gray or black and something a tad bit brighter. Pricing and availability have not yet been determined… anyone excited?
