Late last month, Best Buy announced that it would host a pre-Black Friday ‘Special Holiday Shopping Event’ at 400 participating retail stores around the country on November 7th. Now that the event is fast-approaching, we figured it was about time to give you a head-up, especially since the deals will only be available for an extremely limited window of time. More →
The holiday shopping season is almost upon us and some retailers are even ready to kick off month-long sales promotions come next week. In addition to price-matching policies that major retail chains will employ throughout the season, shoppers are also going to be interested in how to get free shipping with their pruchases. More →
Hoverboards, which self-balancing Segway-like scooters that don’t levitate are known as, are one of the hottest new products of the year. Going for as low as around $270 and all the way up to $2,000, hoverboards might be a hot Christmas gift for many people, assuming they’ll be able to find one in stores.
Amazing as it may seem, Black Friday and Cyber Monday are both a little more than a month away. To get us all prepped for the holiday shopping season, Best Buy on Thursday released a survey of roughly American 2,000 consumers that revealed the 15 most wanted tech Christmas gifts for 2015. It shouldn’t be surprising that Apple products accounted for three of the top 15 most wanted but Samsung and Microsoft can also be happy with how their products performed. More →
Multiple reports said that Best Buy was going to strengthen its ties with Apple by selling AppleCare extended warranties on top of its own protection plans for Apple products, including the iPhone. Rumors said that Best Buy would add AppleCare to its lineup of in-store offerings in time for the iPhone 6s release, and the company’s CEO has just confirmed that AppleCare is indeed coming to Best Buy. It’s Back to School season, which means you’re going to be bombarded by many special deals and sales, including plenty of hot tech-related discounts that are too good to pass up. Some deals apply to school-related products while others are more related to after-school fun. Best Buy right now has an incredible Back to School deal that includes an Xbox One and a 40-inch Samsung Smart HDTV that are being sold together at a shockingly low price. More →
Have you ever bought a computer, a cell phone or any other gadget and realized days later that you’re not satisfied with your purchase? Once you reach that conclusion, you know you’re on the clock — most stores will only give you a few days to return your device with a receipt before you have to eat the cost — but always take the time to restore factory settings.
The following story from an Ars Technica reader should help to illustrate why this is so important.
Despite reports that Apple Watch sales have been lukewarm, Apple CEO Tim Cook emphatically dismissed such claims during the company’s earnings conference call last week. Not only have Apple Watch sales exceeded Apple’s internal projections, but early sales of the device have already surpassed early iPhone and iPod sales.
“And we were able to do that with having only 680 points of sale,” Cook further explained.
Well, Apple Watch availability is about to change in a major way.
Amazon recently celebrated its 20th anniversary with a huge Prime Day deals day that generated record sales. Walmart tried to ruin Amazon’s event by launching its own sales, and so did other retailers. Strangely, Best Buy wasn’t one of them.
Now, however, the company is holding a special “Black Friday in July” event this weekend, planning to offer buyers several gadgets at discounted prices. The Black Friday in July Sale takes place on July 24th and July 25th, with deals available in Best Buy’s online store. More →
Dealing with spam offers from retailers is one of the more annoying components of managing email these days but for the most part you can make them go away by unsubscribing to them. Note how we said, “For the most part.” Ars Technica’s Jon Brodkin found himself on Best Buy’s official email list and he did the sensible thing most people do and tried to unsubscribe. It didn’t work. Then he tried complaining directly to Best Buy, whose representatives promised to remove him from the list. That also didn’t work. As a result, his inbox still looked like this after multiple complaints: More →
How annoying is it when you buy something online or in a store only to find out that it went on sale a few days later? Many stores have policies that offer to refund shoppers when this happens, but by and large, consumers don’t know about these policies or don’t bother to keep track of sale prices in order to take advantage of them.
Now, however, there’s a free service that does the heavy lifting for you, promising to automatically get you a refund if there are coupons you missed or if the price on something you purchased drops after you buy it.
In short, you’re crazy if you don’t sign up for this service. More →
Best Buy on Monday announced it’ll support a new wireless payments technology both in stores and in a version of its mobile app, with the latter option available immediately, despite not having been eager to do so in the past.
