Late last month, NASA’s unmanned Antares rocket, filled with 5,000 pounds of cargo intended for the International Space Station, exploded seconds after liftoff. At the time, news sources only had access to amateur footage, but now that the proverbial smoke has cleared, professional photojournalists have finally had a chance to collect their equipment from the launch site. NASA on Tuesday night launched the unmanned Antares rocket, which was supposed to deliver 5,000 pounds of cargo to the International Space Station, but something went horribly wrong immediately after take-off and the rocket exploded. Remember how psyched we were when I Am T-Pain made its App Store debut? Well multiply that by 25 times and you’ll know exactly what we feel like right now, as a ridiculously awesome update to the app has just been released to the App Store. Not only does it fully support iOS 4, but it goes one step further and takes advantage of FaceTime APIs. The end result is that not only can you sing like T-Pain, but you can create your own music videos all from your iPhone 4. We’ve got a teaser video after the jump alongside a direct link to the app. Honestly, you’d be pretty hard pressed to find a more enjoyable application for $0.99. More →
There’s really not too much to say other than T-Pain will probably be adding about 70 more of those “Big Ass Chain” pieces to his jewelry collection when sales are tallied for his iPhone application. If you haven’t heard about it when it was in the making, it’s basically a brilliant concept — transform the iPhone’s microphone into a mobile recording studio and get Antares’ Auto-Tune technology infused on top. You can record your own songs and even better, download T-Pain instrumentals to sing along with. Then shoot your finished recording in an email to friends or post it up on your MySpace or Facebook so everyone can make fun of you.
The application is fantastically-crafted and we’re going to go out on a limb here and say this is probably one of the smartest things we’ve ever seen on the iPhone. It’s only $2.99 to get your T-Pain on and it’s available now. Shawty.
