All AT&T, Sprint and Verizon phones from Amazon now just a penny

There is no need to wait until Black Friday or Cyber Monday to get a new smartphone at a great price. Amazon is now offering every smartphone it carries for AT&T, Verizon or Sprint for as low as $0.01 with a new contract. To be clear, you’ll need to sign up for a new line or be a new customer with one of the carriers, otherwise you’ll pay standard upgrade pricing. The promotion includes most new high-end smartphone models such as the DROID RAZR, the Galaxy S II, the HTC Rezound 4G, the Samsung Focus S, the BlackBerry Bold 9930 and more. Unfortunately, you’ll need to purchase an iPhone elsewhere: Amazon’s AmazonWireless subsidiary doesn’t carry the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S. Amazon is also offering a $100 “Hotspot Holidays” promotion in which customers who sign up for a hotspot data plan will receive a $100 Amazon.com credit. The penny special begins now and ends on Cyber Monday, November 28th. More →

Samsung DROID Charge on sale for $199 from Amazon

Samsung DROID Charge on sale for $199 from Amazon

As much as we like Verizon Wireless’ second 4G LTE-enabled smartphone offering, $300 is a tough pill to swallow — even for the fastest smartphone we’ve ever reviewed. While the improved battery life and slimmer build probably do warrant a $50 premium over the HTC ThunderBolt, Verizon’s other 4G smartphone, its $250 asking price is a bit steep to begin with. As usual, however, AmazonWireless has swooped in with a sale price and undercut Verizon’s asking price by a cool $100. The new lower price of $199 is in line with what one might expect to pay for a smartphone on contract, and the DROID Charge is well worth it thanks to a 1GHz processor, a gorgeous Super AMOLED Plus display, an 8-megapixel camera and, of course, blazing fast 4G LTE speeds. Amazon’s $199 price tag for the DROID Charge is only available for a limited time, though no end date has been specified for the sale. More →

HTC ThunderBolt back on sale at AmazonWireless; $129.99

HTC ThunderBolt back on sale at AmazonWireless; $129.99

As much as we loved the HTC ThunderBolt when we reviewed it this past March, we can certainly understand if some people are hesitant to spend $250 on a new smartphone — even if it does run on the fastest cellular network in the country. If you fall into that category of intrigued smartphone buyers who just cant stomach parting with that much money up front, you’re in luck. AmazonWireless has brought back its previous sale price for the ThunderBolt. That’s right, just $129.99, a smartphone data plan and a two-year contract will get you all the 4G’d Froyo you can handle — but only for a limited time.

UPDATE: To clarify, during this sale the ThunderBolt is $129.99 for new customers, $174.99 for existing customers upgrading on an individual account, and $199.99 for existing customers upgrading a line on a family plan. More →

Verizon's ThunderBolt now just $129.99 from Amazon

Verizon's ThunderBolt now just $129.99 from Amazon

Verizon Wireless’ HTC ThunderBolt has been a big seller for the nation’s top carrier so far. In the two weeks that Verizon’s first 4G LTE-capable smartphone has been available, the carrier has activated an impressive 260,000 units. Those are great numbers, especially when considering the steep $250 price tag on the device. Those who yearn for 4G LTE but who can’t quite stomach the thought of paying that much for a cell phone will be happy to learn that they will soon be able to purchase a ThunderBolt from AmazonWireless for just over half that price. From midnight tonight through midnight on April 25th, Amazon is offering the ThunderBolt for just $129.99 with a two-year contract. Amazon will also toss in free two-day shipping to sweeten the deal, though we’re not sure it really needed any sweetening — BGR reviewed the HTC ThunderBolt last month and found it to be a great smartphone with the fastest cellular data service we’ve ever tested. AT&T's Motorola ATRIX 4G just $49.99 from Amazon

By on April 9, 2011 at 10:01 AM.

AT&T's Motorola ATRIX 4G just $49.99 from Amazon

No, this isn’t April Fools. AmazonWireless is selling AT&T’s Motorola ATRIX 4G for $49.99 with a new two-year AT&T contract. That’s $150 less than AT&T’s $199.99 price tag. Sure, there’s been some hoopla about AT&T’s 4G HSPA+ performance on the ATRIX, but it still packs plenty of punch with a killer dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor clocked at 1GHz, 1GB of RAM, Android 2.2 (Froyo), and a sharper-than-diamonds 960 x 540-pixel display. AmazonWireless sweetens the deal even further by knocking $100 off of the Motorola Laptop Dock accessory, which typically retails for $399.99 when purchased separately. We called the ATRIX 4G one of the best Android smartphones to ever be available from AT&T when we reviewed it in February, so you know you’re getting some top-notch gear. The $49.99 deal is likely a limited-time offer, so don’t delay if you’re in the market for a new smartphone from AT&T. More →

Verizon’s HTC ThunderBolt handset on sale today

The day is finally here — as if we even have to remind you. Verizon Wireless’ first LTE handset, the HTC ThunderBolt, is now available on store shelves and online, ready to take home. If you plan on being one of the very first consumers to acquire the 4G handset, and suck up some of those virgin LTE airwaves, you have options. Verizon Wireless, Best Buy, and a host of others will be selling the handset for $250 on-contract, but if you don’t mind waiting for the 4.3-inch monster to be mailed to you, Wirefly will be selling the device for $199.99 and Amazon Wireless has it priced at a very affordable $179.99. Who doesn’t like saving a little money? If you’re heading out to grab some lightning today, good luck. More →
