Images of HTC’s Pyramid Android smartphone surface

A live image of HTC’s unannounced Pyramid Android smartphone, rumored to possibly land on T-Mobile, has been leaked — and it looks a bit different than earlier renders. The Pyramid is sitting next to a Desire HD in the shot above, and based on its size we assume the speculation around the device having a 4.3-inch qHD display to be correct. Unlike last week’s leaked shot, though, the live version here shows a camera with dual-LED flash. Other rumors have suggested it will be powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and it will pack 768MB of RAM. It is suggested that the Pyramid could land sometime in May, so hopefully HTC will put and end to the rumors with an announcement during CTIA this week.

The leaks are flying out of xda.cn at a fast and furious pace today. The site has posted renderings of another leaked, HTC handset, the Android-based Pyramid. The site reports that the device will sport a 1.2GHz processor, 4.3-inch Super LCD, qHD display with 540 x 960 resolution; 768MB of RAM; front and rear facing cameras; along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth radios. The site also lists Honeycomb (Android 3.0) as the operating system the device will run — which sort of calls the rest of the specs into question. Again, xda.cn has a mixed track record when it comes to leaked devices, and while the images look to be authentic, the specifications could simply be overzealous predictions made by the site. More →
