AT&T Impulse 4G Android smartphone lands September 18th for $30

AT&T announced the Impulse 4G on Wednesday, an Android 2.2 (Froyo) smartphone that will be available beginning on September 18th for just $29.99 with a new two-year contract. Despite its budget-friendly price, the Impulse 4G offers solid specs. It is equipped with a 5-megapixel camera capable of recording 720p video, Wi-Fi, GPS and a 3.8-inch touchscreen with a WVGA resolution. The Impulse 4G is Huawei’s first smartphone for AT&T, and Huawei’s U.S. president of devices Cui Jiangao said the company is committed to working with AT&T to offer more devices in the future. Verizon 4G LTE Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 now available for pre-order

Moments ago Verizon Wireless announced that its customers can now pre-order a 4G LTE version of Samsung’s brand new Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet. The device is powered by Android 3.1 (Honeycomb), sports a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor clocked at 1GHz, offers a 3.2-megapixel camera capable of recording 720p HD video, and more. It will be available in “metallica gray” or “glossy white,” in 16GB and 32GB flavors. The 16GB Galaxy Tab 10.1 will set you back $529.99 while the 32GB one will cost you $629.99. Verizon is offer four different tablet plans: $20 for 1GB of data per month, $35 for 3GB, $50 for 5GB, and $80 for 10GB. The carrier said it expects the tablet to ship in the next 4-6 weeks.

Sony Ericsson outs Xperia ray, Xperia active, and txt [video]

During the CommunicAsia trade show in Singapore on Wednesday, Sony Ericsson officially took the wraps off of three new devices: the Xperia ray, the Xperia active, and the “txt.” The Android 2.3-powered Xperia ray sports a 9.4mm thin profile, a 3.3-inch “Reality” display with an 854 x 480 resolution, an 8.1-megapixel Exmor R camera, and a 1,500 mAh battery. The Xperia active also runs Gingerbread and offers a smaller 3-inch 480 x 320 Reality display and a 5-megapixel camera capable of recording HD video. It’s also dust proof and water resistant. Lastly, the txt is a budget-friendly feature phone with a relatively simple set of specs. It offers a 2.6-inch screen, a full QWERTY keyboard, and a 3.2-megapixel camera.
