Roboto lands on iOS/Android for $2.99, is our new favorite Android platformer

On Thursday morning, Fenix Fire Entertainment released a game called Roboto for Android and iOS devices. We’ve been playing the game for the past few weeks and even through a few early builds. The idea is simple: you’re a robot fighting across 30 different levels on your rocket board in attempt to save ‘robogirl.’ The graphics are beautiful, the soundtrack is solid and the gameplay is addictive, if just a hair repetitive at times. There are dozens of exciting iOS platformer games but Roboto sticks out as one of the best currently available for Android gamers. The title is loaded with acrobatic puzzles, five different weapons, power ups and armor upgrades, and OpenFeint/Game Center support. Roboto currently priced at just $2.99 until August 8th, after which it will jump to $4.99, so be sure to download it from the Android Market or iTunes App Store now. Read on for a link to the game from both stores. More →

AT&T to offer standard iPhone insurance beginning July 17th

AT&T has announced that it will offer standard insurance to iPhone owners beginning on July 17th. Previously, AT&T subscribers were able to sign up for a more expensive $12 monthly insurance plan, which had a $199 deductible. Protection will now cost just $4.99 per month with the standard plan and it is expected to have a $125 deductible, which covers all models of the iPhone for loss, accidental physical or liquid damage, theft, and mechanical or electrical failure. “Effective July 17, 2011, the Apple iPhone (all models) will be eligible for coverage with the AT&T Mobile Insurance program (formerly Wireless Phone Insurance),” AT&T said in a statement on its mobile insurance page. “Enrollment restrictions apply. Customers can only enroll within 30 days of a new activation or upgrade, prior activations or upgrades outside of 30 days are not eligible.” More →

Adobe’s iPad Photoshop apps now available [video]

In early April, Adobe took the wraps off of three new applications for the iPad — Color Lava, Eazel, and Nav — and they are all now available in the iTunes App Store. Adobe Eazel is priced at $4.99 and allows you to finger paint and then sync your artwork via Wi-Fi to Photoshop CS5. Nav is $1.99 and allows users to move and view some Photoshop windows, including works in progress or toolbars, on an iPad display. Color Lava is available for $2.99 and it turns your iPad into a palette for creating new colors and custom swatches that can be ported back into CS5. Hit the jump for videos of each app in action.
