There is no need to wait until Black Friday or Cyber Monday to get a new smartphone at a great price. Amazon is now offering every smartphone it carries for AT&T, Verizon or Sprint for as low as $0.01 with a new contract. To be clear, you’ll need to sign up for a new line or be a new customer with one of the carriers, otherwise you’ll pay standard upgrade pricing. The promotion includes most new high-end smartphone models such as the DROID RAZR, the Galaxy S II, the HTC Rezound 4G, the Samsung Focus S, the BlackBerry Bold 9930 and more. Unfortunately, you’ll need to purchase an iPhone elsewhere: Amazon’s AmazonWireless subsidiary doesn’t carry the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S. Amazon is also offering a $100 “Hotspot Holidays” promotion in which customers who sign up for a hotspot data plan will receive a $100 Amazon.com credit. The penny special begins now and ends on Cyber Monday, November 28th. More →
Thinking about treating yourself to one of Verizon’s DROID smartphones right before the holidays? You’ll definitely want to check out this latest deal from AmazonWireless. The online retail giant has the full compliment of DROID devices from Big Red — the DROID Incredible, X, 2, and Pro — on sale for a single penny for those opening a new line of service. The offer is good now through November 22nd and includes free activation. If you’re thinking about jumping over to Verizon, how can you go wrong with a deal like this?
Now, if you’re already a VZW customer, and the DROID Pro has caught your eye, Best Buy is offering the new candy bar set for a very reasonable $99.99 with a signed two-year agreement; that is a full $80 below the on-contract price being offered by Verizon. It also looks like Best Buy’s $100 offer is being served straight-up, with no mail-in rebate or other forms required. Man the holidays are a great time to buy a cell phone.
Let us know what you think of the two deals!
UPDATE: Wirefly is selling the DROID Pro to new 2-year contract signers for an even lower $50. [Read] More →
Yesterday, T-Mobile had a one-day sale on the Samsung Vibrant; pricing the unit at $100-off the usual $199 for 2-year contract signers. Today, AmazonWireless has the device for one shiny penny. The terms of the deal look like this:
When you purchase your device with service from AmazonWireless.com, we automatically pass along an instant discount from the carrier to you. This discount has been provided to you based on your agreement to (a) activate a new, or extend an existing, line of service for this device with the carrier, and (b) maintain this service in good standing for a minimum of 181 consecutive days. If you do not activate or extend a line of service in connection with this device, or if your service is canceled/disconnected before 181 consecutive days, AmazonWireless.com will charge you $250 per device, plus applicable taxes.
So, if you were on the fence about $199, and still on the fence about $99, how do you feel about $0.01? More →
