Various reports have recently claimed that Google’s upcoming new Nexus device will not be called the Nexus 6 as expected, but instead will get a unique Nexus X moniker. TKTechNews, one of the sources of previous leaks, has returned with more information about the Motorola Nexus X, listing several AnTuTu benchmark screenshots for the handset, which seem to reveal an important new detail about Android L. The Nexus 6’s actual name, price and launch details may have just been revealed

Motorola is widely expected to build the next Nexus smartphone, and various reports have provided details about its actual name, price and launch schedule. TKTechNews and Phone Arena have now seemingly received information revealing the Nexus 6 will actually be called the Nexus X. The phone should start selling this fall, before October, and could cost up to $499.99 in the U.S. and €419.99 in Europe. More →

In May, The Wall Street Journal reported that Google (GOOG) would be opening its Nexus program up to as many as five manufacturers for a complete smartphone and tablet portfolio to be available in late November, with additional rumors suggesting that Sony, LG, and Samsung would all be manufacturing Nexus-branded devices. We have already seen LG’s (06657011) offering in a variety of leaked images and have also seen an alleged spec sheet for the Galaxy Nexus II. And now alleged images belonging to Sony’s (SNE) Nexus X smartphone were uploaded to Picasa on Sunday that show on-screen navigation keys and an unskinned version of Android. It has been reported that Google will announce its latest Nexus smartphones on October 29th. An additional image follows below.
