Motorola explains why it made the Moto 360 so sexy

Motorola is lagging behind rivals when it comes to launching an Android Wear smartwatch. The Moto 360 may look a lot better than Samsung’s Gear Live and LG’s G Watch – these two devices can already be purchased in stores – but the device is not ready for those smartphone buyers eager to buy it. Will the world’s most beautiful smartwatch be horribly overpriced?

While most smartwatches unveiled so far haven’t really garnered a lot of positive press, there has been one exception: The Moto 360, which by far has the most stylish design of any big-name wearable computer out there. However, GforGames flags a price listing for the Moto 360 on Chinese retailer Jingdong’s website that says the device will sell for 2,800 yuan, which is nearly twice the 1,500 yuan that Jingdong is charging for the LG G Watch or the Samsung Gear Live. Terrific video gives a closeup look at the most beautiful smartwatch we’ve seen

Most smartwatches that we’ve seen haven’t exactly blown us away so far, but the hardware design team at Motorola really deserves a lot of credit for the Moto 360, an Android Wear-based smartwatch that looks absolutely terrific. Motorola has now posted a new video that gives us a nice up-close look at the Moto 360 and walks us through some of its basic functions, including how to turn the device on, how to bring up and respond to notification cards and how to use voice commands to ask Google questions. We still don’t know exactly when the Moto 360 is coming out and Motorola is only saying that it will release “later this summer.” However, it’s definitely the most anticipated smartwatch release outside of Apple’s still-to-be-revealed iWatch that we expect to see this fall.
