Welcome one and all to BGR’s live coverage of Apple’s WWDC 2011 keynote! Apple CEO Steve Jobs is on hand to unveil the latest Apple has to offer, and we’re expecting a huge event despite the fact that Apple is not expected to reveal a new iPhone model at the show this year. Instead, Apple will focus on software, with the big addition being the company’s new iCloud service. Apple will also show off more OS X Lion details during the keynote, but we have to admit: we’re much more anxious to see Apple show off iOS 5 for the first time. We think iOS 5 is going to be the most significant update to the platform since Apple introduced the App Store alongside iOS 2.0. A completely rebuilt notification system, basic widget functionality, a new automatic app update delivery mechanism and deep social integration are among the changes we’ll be looking for, but we’re certain that Apple has a few surprises up its sleeve as well. Google has been working on a mobile payment service for quite some time now, and the company is finally ready to take the wraps off of the first iteration of its contactless payment product. Google has been buying up talent — and someone spilled the beans this past Tuesday — so we can’t say the announcement is likely to come as much of a surprise. Yes, Google is expected to finally take the wraps off its Google Wallet service, which will use NFC-based technology to allow consumers to pay for goods with their cell phones. According to reports, Google’s preliminary pilot will launch in partnership with Sprint, utilizing the NFC-equipped Google Nexus S 4G, and it will be available in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and Washington, D.C. to start. We went hands-on with RIM’s new touch and type BlackBerry Bold 9900 / 9930 on Monday — the only device announced at BlackBerry World yesterday — and today we’re back with live coverage of RIM’s BlackBerry World 2011 keynote. RIM just recently launched the BlackBerry PlayBook, and its first tablet was also the first device to give the world a taste of the company’s QNX operating system. RIM also introduced BlackBerry 7 here at BlackBerry World 2011, and it could very well be the last major release of the BlackBerry OS before RIM transitions to QNX on smartphones as well. This is definitely a time of transition for RIM, and so we’re looking for some more insight as to how RIM plans to stem the tide of iPhones, iPads and Android devices, and stay competitive. Good morning from Samsung’s CTIA 2011 Mobile Unpacked event. The company has not been shy about throwing its “78910″ event tagline around, so we think we know what we’re getting ourselves into. We’re expecting to see a new, 8.9-inch, Galaxy Tab tablet officially welcomed into the Samsung portfolio. Greetings from CTIA Wireless 2011! The conference is about to officially kickoff, and what better way to start an event than with a keynote. While we’re not expecting to hear any product announcements at this particular keynote, the group on stage will definitely have plenty to talk about. Verizon Wireless CEO, Dan Meade; Sprint CEO, Dan Hesse; AT&T CEO, Ralph de la Vega; and T-Mobile USA CEO, Philipp Humm will be sitting down for a “carrier roundtable” hosted by CNBC’s Jim Cramer.
