iPhone 7 Plus Rumors

Apple’s iPhone 7 ‘Pro’ design might not be a mystery anymore

Apple’s iPhone 7 ‘Pro’ design might not be a mystery anymore

What’s the relationship between a standard 3.5mm audio jack and iPhone 7’s battery life, you ask? Some reports indicated that Apple is looking to remove the headphone jack from upcoming iPhone design to come up with an even slimmer iPhone. Such changes would also impact the size of the phone’s battery. While Apple would likely find ways to keep battery life about the same even after decreasing the battery’s size, some would argue that a thicker iPhone could pack a more generous battery.

A new schematic leak from Asia suggests that not only will the iPhone 7 Plus — or iPhone 7 “Pro,” as it has sometimes been called — have the same size battery as the current 5.5-inch iPhone, but that it would also sport a certain “Pro” feature we keep hearing about in iPhone rumors. The leak might also have eliminate nearly all of the mystery surrounding the design of Apple’s next-generation iPhones. More →

Samsung already has a fix for the worst thing about the iPhone 7

One of the worst features reportedly coming to the iPhone 7, according to some potential buyers, is the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack. But while iPhone fans might be annoyed, other companies including headset makers, Intel, and more are prepping for a future without the old standard jack.

Even Samsung is working on a new type of headset: truly wireless headphones that come with their own storage. More →

Apple Earnings Release Response

Making sense of Apple now that everything has changed

Making sense of Apple now that everything has changed

By on April 27, 2016 at 11:01 AM.

Apple shed more than $40 billion in market capitalization in mere minutes on Tuesday afternoon as the company reported its first revenue decline in more than a decade and its first iPhone sales decline ever. But Apple didn’t just report declines, it reported huge declines and missed Wall Street’s earnings estimates by a shockingly wide margin.

iPhone sales plummeted to 51.2 million units from 61.17 million in the same quarter last year. Earnings per share fell to $1.90 while analysts were expecting $2.00 or more. Revenue sank by nearly $7.5 billion on-year.

There were no bright spots in Apple’s report — it was gruesome through and through. But what does all this mean for Apple’s future? More →

The iPhone 7 might cost you money even if you don’t buy one

One of the most prominent iPhone 7 rumors out there concerns the device’s audio output. Apparently, Apple is going to “kill” one more port with this iPhone release: the standard 3.5mm headphone jack. However, it looks like Apple isn’t the only company looking to get rid of the old analog port, as others are also interested in this particular move. Intel is one of them, and it could help Apple make the 3.5mm headphone jack a thing of the past. More →

Apple might ditch its ‘S’ strategy and launch the redesigned iPhone of our dreams next year

The iPhone 7 is already seen as a boring phone by one well-known insider, one that won’t convince enough buyers to purchase the 2016 flagship, which could result in a significant iPhone sales decline. But next year’s iPhone sounds a lot more exciting than the iPhone 7, and a new report indicates it won’t be an iPhone 7s. More →

iPhone 7 could be more exciting than we thought if this rumor pans out

iPhone 7 reports were bound to start flying at this time of year, with most of them agreeing on the phone’s most important features. Far from being confirmed, the iPhone 7 is supposed to be thinner than predecessors, featuring a redesigned antenna system and no standard headphone jack. A premium iPhone 7 Plus model is expected to have a dual lens camera, and this year’s high-end iPhone is also rumored to pack a keyboard-friendly Smart Connector just like the iPad Pros.

But a new report also suggests another key feature is getting a makeover, and it could pave the way for a future major iPhone redesign. More →

The iPhone 7 is going to be ‘boring’

Will the iPhone 7 be “boring” in terms of novel new features? A new report from a reputable insider seems to suggest that the new smartphone won’t have alluring features that will convince masses of buyers to purchase it. On the contrary, the iPhone 7 might hurt Apple’s bottom line this year and the company might sell fewer iPhones this year than it did in 2014. More →

The iPhone 7 isn’t even out and rivals are already copying a rumored signature feature

Like it or not, Apple is still the company that dictates the future of the smartphone, even though the iPhone isn’t the dominant platform by market share. The features introduced by the iPhone are often found on devices from Apple’s rivals, and the same thing will happen with the iPhone 7.

The handset is reportedly going to lack a 3.5mm headphone jack, a standard feature across just about all consumer devices that output audio. And it’s likely that other smartphone makers are going to follow suit in the future. But one company seems so certain that the 3.5mm headphone port is going to die that it just launched no less than three new Android handsets that all lack the audio jack. More →

New report outlines one way the iPhone 7 might not match the Galaxy S7

One key component of the Galaxy S7 is Samsung’s ultra-fast universal flash storage (UFS) that’s able to offer better speeds than typical memory solutions used in smartphones and other computers. Based on Samsung’s advanced V-NAND flash memory chips, the UFS storage would significantly improve the iPhone’s performance. A new report says that although Samsung and Apple have inked a storage deal for the first time since the iPhone 5, Samsung’s UFS might not make it into the iPhone until next year. More →

iPhone 7 Plus Camera Leak

Will this fall’s iPhone have the big redesign we’ve been waiting for?

Will this fall’s iPhone have the big redesign we’ve been waiting for?

A few weeks ago, a photo that supposedly showed Apple’s upcoming iPhone 7 Plus case suggested the upcoming phablet will indeed have a dual camera setup on the back, along with redesigned antennas and a Smart Connector that would let you connect the phone to a keyboard. The most annoying detail about that leak concerned the dual camera, which had a protruding configuration that might be even uglier than the one on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s. A second leak in mid-March also showed an iPhone 7 design render, supposedly originating from Apple supplier Catcher.

Now, a new report seems to corroborate parts of these leaks and point to a pretty significant redesign — but maybe not the big one we’ve been waiting for.

Meizu Pro 6 Vs iPhone 7

The phone everyone thought was the iPhone 7 was just unveiled (yes, it’s a shameless iPhone copy)

By on April 13, 2016 at 10:31 AM.

When photos recently leaked showing an unreleased smartphone that looked exactly like an iPhone, it stood to reason that people would jump to the conclusion that the device was… the unreleased iPhone 7. And that’s exactly what happened back in March, when images from an Eastern manufacturer leaked and showed a smartphone that looked exactly like the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s, but with a thinner housing and redesigned antenna lines on the back of the device. Hilariously, the marketing boss from Android vendor Meizu actually had to come out and post a picture of an unreleased Meizu phone to show that the phone in question wasn’t the iPhone 7, but instead an upcoming phone from his company.

Well, the Meizu Pro 6 has now been unveiled and just as we all thought it would be, it’s a shameless iPhone ripoff. But believe it or not, it’s even more shameless than we were expecting. More →

This could be a glimpse at one of the iPhone 7’s best new features

You might not be excited about tablets these days, not even about Apple’s latest iPad Pro that replaces the iPad Air line. However, there’s a component in the latest iOS tablet that, if adopted in the iPhone 7 later this year, might help Apple overtake Samsung in one critical smartphone feature: Real-life display performance.
