Apple just released two of its best designs ever and two of its worst designs ever

Apple just released two of its best designs ever and two of its worst designs ever

Apple’s big iPhone 7 event is finally behind us and that can only mean one thing: Jonathan and Zach had to get back together to record a podcast after going months without a new show. The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are obviously the main topic of conversation, but Zach and Jonathan also have a heated debate over what one of them views as two of the ugliest Apple products of all time — the AirPods and the ceramic Apple Watch. (Can you guess who loves them and who thinks they’re hideous?)

All that and plenty more on the latest episode of The BGR Show. More →

WWDC 2016 could be the start of something better

Apple’s WWDC 2016 was one of the most exciting in recent memory. Packed full of non-stop updates to all four major platforms, Jonathan and Zach give first thoughts on some of the new software out of Cupertino, what Android does that could be better than Apple’s approach to the OS, and of course, some talk on Tesla’s future.

Special thanks to Casper for sponsoring this week’s show! Made in the USA, it is an incredible product that starts at just $50.

Samsung, you’re copying Apple again but you’re doing it wrong

March 11th at 1:09 PM

Samsung, you’re copying Apple again but you’re doing it wrong

The BGR Show weekly podcast might not actually run on a weekly basis, but at least we’re consistent in our inconsistency. On this week’s episode, Jonathan and Zach cover a number of different topics including Samsung’s new Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge and the company’s recent “Apple-esque” PR move. They also chat about the upcoming iPhone SE that will be unveiled during an event on March 21st in Cupertino, the nightmare that is the 2016 presidential race, and an argument even breaks out at one point.

It’s an action-packed episode that you definitely won’t want to miss.

This episode was sponsored by the amazing folks at Casper. Visit them at Casper.com/BGR and use promo code BGR for $50 off your purchase of our favorite mattress in the world.  More →

Apple vs. the FBI, gas vs. electric, Kanye vs. sanity

Apple vs. the FBI, gas vs. electric, Kanye vs. sanity

Welcome to the latest edition of The BGR Show, our weekly podcast that never seems to happen on a weekly basis. Jonathan blames Zach, but we all know it’s his fault. On this week’s show, the pair tackle Apple’s very public, very polarizing battle with the FBI and the U.S. government, the gas car Jonathan might buy after saying he would never buy another gas car, and Kanye’s ongoing meltdown. Zach may have also at one point said that The Wall is a Who album while he was distracted, but let’s just pretend that never happened.

The full episode is embedded below along with some amazing footage from Kanye’s Glow in the Dark tour that Jonathan spoke about on the show.

The Hunchback of Cupertino

December 17th at 2:04 PM

The Hunchback of Cupertino

After promising in episode 22 that The BGR Show podcast would once again return to a weekly schedule, Jonathan and Zach promptly went several weeks without recording a new episode. It’s not that they don’t want to appease all of the awesome listeners who constantly message them asking where new episodes are. According to Jonathan, it’s just that life sometimes gets in the way.

On this week’s episode, the two tackle a wide range of topics including Apple’s terrible stylus design (which Zach didn’t know included an adapter for charging), Apple’s terrible Magic Mouse 2 design (which really is inexcusably terrible), Jonathan’s new car (which he promised he would never buy), CES 2016 (which is shaping up to be horribly boring), and Apple’s controversial new iPhone charging case, otherwise known as the Hunchback of Cupertino (which Jonathan says will put other charging case companies out of business). The future of TV, the future of cars, and an $87 billion mistake

We’ve read your emails, tweets and Facebook posts, and we got your message loud and clear: The BGR Show is back. After an brief hiatus followed by a much needed vacation, Jonathan and Zach have finally posted a brand new episode of the popular BGR Show podcast. On this week’s episode, the pair covers a wide range of topics including the future of TV that the new Apple TV will help usher in, the future of watches that Tag Heuer will seemingly play no role in, the future of cars powered by electric motors and next-generation software, and the latest news in the ongoing Volkswagen emissions scandal, which may end up costing the company as much as $87 billion. Yikes.

The BGR Show: Finding answers to our Apple event questions at the bottom of a bottle of bourbon

September 10th at 12:12 PM

The BGR Show: Finding answers to our Apple event questions at the bottom of a bottle of bourbon

In case you missed it, Apple hosted a little get together on Wednesday and announced some new stuff. It was kind of a big deal. The new iPhones look terrific, the Apple TV could be the early stages of a major sea change, and the iPad Pro further bridges the gap between tablet and PC. But when everything was said and done, Jonathan and Zach were left with some big questions.

So, they did the only thing that made sense: They cracked open a bottle of Blanton’s on Wednesday evening and recorded episode 21 of The BGR Show podcast.

Huge thanks to Casper for sponsoring our show this week! Jonathan has been sleeping on a Casper mattress for a couple of months and it’s the best mattress he’s ever tried. Better than all of his previous foam mattresses, which each cost well over double the price of a Casper.

The best part is Casper mattresses start at $500 and you can get $50 off your order by visting casper.com/bgr and using the discount code BGR at checkout.

The BGR Show: Episode 19 – Apple & Android, Tesla & Alphabet

We’re back! Thanks for all the emails and tweets. This week Zach & I cover what could be Apple’s most important event ever, rumored to be taking place on September 9th with a boatload of new product announcements. We also discuss Jonathan’s trip to Cape Cod and his ongoing struggle with the iPhone 6 vs iPhone 6 Plus, and Zach’s complete hatred of Android. Ok fine, I made that last part up. Also someone talks about an Apple Watch!

The BGR Show: Episode 16 – Apple Music Is Our Generation’s Moon Landing

In this week’s episode of The BGR Show podcast, I’m joined by Zachary Epstein the Third. Apple Music is finally here — and we’re loving it.

Quick note: I thoroughly apologize for my microphone audio. When we were recording, it used my iMac microphone and not my Neumann, and I am embarrassed. This isn’t an accurate representation of the podcast experience for The BGR Show, and I hope you can one day forgive me for this egregious error. More →
