BMW is just one of many carmakers with wild concept vehicles aimed at a future with AI pilots and augmented reality features we can only dream of today. That being said, they’re one of the few companies that are actually building and selling some pretty futuristic vehicles right now, including the i3 and i8, both of which look like they could have been pulled directly from a Minority Report sequel. Having shown off more than a handful of its wildest visions over the past few years, BMW decided it was time to wrap them all up in a fancy video showing what a future with all of its inventions might look like, and it’s exactly as insane as you’d expect it to be.

Self-driving cars? Check. Augmented reality helmets? Check. Cars that show up and then paint your name onto the ground with bright red projected light so everyone nearby now knows that you own a BMW and also that your name is Anna? That’s a big check.

There’s plenty of technology on display in the video that already exists, which is a mark in BMW’s favor. Of course, there’s also several innovations and features that both don’t exist, and would also need to clear a myriad of legal hurdles before they could even be properly tested on any European or US roadway. Regardless of that fact, it’s interesting to see all these concept cars and flashy mock-ups mashed together in a cohesive vision for the future, even if that future may never actually pan out.
